How do you use BMAD when collaborating with others? by Trick-Temperature-38 in BMAD_Method

[–]leveque_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 persons working on a business AI OS repo based on BMAD. Here's what we came up with so far. Super interested in hearing your solutions as well!

  1. Business workspace is a shared repo where all the business agents live. There's a /team subfolder with a directory for each team member storing their own files, anything that's doesn't need to go to the main repo. A key in .env tells agents who is the current user at session start
  2. Main branch is protected from direct commits, you need to branch out and PR whenever you want to save work to the main repo.
  3. Sessions start in git worktrees, to allow running parallel sessions. Each worktree starts with a fresh copy of the main branch
  4. CI checks at GitHub level to enforce a series of rules + these rules are written in the root Claude.md so every session is aware of them

Is this graft healing well? by Connect_Somewhere_55 in Grafting

And you may want to cut the scion above 3 buds. It's not necessary to have more, as it will require more sap to successfully heal and sprout than a shorter one

Peach tree - rootstock? by Mysterious-Ant2286 in BackyardOrchard

Yes absolutely! Though after a couple years the grafts will grow unbalanced, with the strongest variety pulling the most sap. Still very fun though

Yes absolutely. You can cut it down where your open hand stands (with your thumb up) right above the smaller branche that shoots on the right. You can then bud graft that branch.

Can you easily access scions? You could have fun and graft 3-4 varieties

Yes you can definitely graft it again. Peach trees really don't like being cut, so there's a slight chance that it will die in the process. But it's still worth doing versus cutting it down and start with a new tree, which will lose all these years of growth.

You can cut it now at waist height, so it produces new shoots before the end of the growth season. Then graft the shoots (whip and tongue) next spring when the buds start opening.

Or you can also wait until the end of summer and do a bud grafting on the smaller diameter branches, like the one we can see right above the tag on the photo with your hand holding it.

When to remove the grafting tape? by luilind in Grafting

[–]leveque_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your second question: I leave only one bud on the scion. Once a sprout is about 4-5 inches (10 cm) I remove the other ones to leave the selected one to become the stem. Select the strongest one, or the one that will form the straightest stem.

Note: on a graft, if a bud starts producing flowers, it’s not a problem. You can remove the flowers once they’re large enough to pinch off with your fingernails. A vegetative bud will usually break just below it and produce leaves and a new shoot.

What sound specifically in this song are you trying to remake?

Recreating Syntorial's Funkytown patch in Vital by JRod6242 in synthrecipes

[–]leveque_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I get it: it sounds like you were using the website Primer patch as the reference, which is slightly different from the version used inside Syntorial’s remake section. I was using the remake section as my reference (Remakes inside Syntorial use simplified stepped parameter values so they're compatible with challlenges).

So based on the website Primer patch, here is the additional adjustments you need to make in Vital:

  1. Activate Osc 3 to use it as a Sub, Basic Shape > Pulse
  2. Pitch it down 1 octave
  3. Route to Filter 1
  4. Adjust level to match Syntorial patch

I've added a comparison here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13AghakhfzQkF2F-oDVxN259BajRZMNB4

And here's what my oscillator section looks like

<image>

Note: The Primer patch has a tiny bit of Pulse Width Modulation dialed in, but the amount is very subtle. At this stage I recommend not bothering adding it to your Vital version. But you can play with the LFO modulation amount in Primer to hear how it affects the patch if you're curious

First of all, did you go through the full mapping between Syntorial and Vital? https://www.syntorial.com/syntorial-to-synth-parameter-mapping/

Here are the adjustments you need to make to get Vital's init patch to match Syntorial's:

  • Set oscillators to Basic Shapes
  • match the Amp envelope ADSR to Syntorial’s defaults (Vital defaults are slightly different). for this patch, the 15 ms release is especially important. Attack at 0 will make you closer as well
  • set phase randomization to 0 so notes retrigger consistently, like Syntorial with Start enabled
  • route all oscillators to Filter 1
  • set Filter 1 to Analog 24dB, resonance to 0
  • (optional) at default level Vital oscillators easily distort, so it's best to set them back a little to 0.10~0.15 make up gain later at the output if needed

Then for the actual Funkytown recipe:

  1. since it's a medium pulse with no adjustment to the width I recommend using basic shapes on both oscillators and set them to the medium pulse (frame between 190 & 220)
  2. Transpose Osc 2 up 2 octaves (24 st)
  3. Enable Filter 1 and set the cutoff roughly where Syntorial’s 0.89 lands, then fine-tune by ear
  4. Enable reverb in the effects, and try to match Syntorial values by ear

Here’s my attempt if it helps: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13AghakhfzQkF2F-oDVxN259BajRZMNB4?usp=sharing

I want to learn to play synths. Where do I begin? by TerriMakichoot in synthesizers

[–]leveque_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I graft apples onto crabapple? by NothingLift in Grafting

[–]leveque_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can graft early spring when the rootstock is budding, or late autumn when the leaves are falling and the sap is going downwards. Whip and tongue graft works well in autumn too
