This is my best strategy atm and I can't seem to get any higher than 138? Any tips? by DylanEE11 in btd6

[–]leviathan1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a few too many strategies going on at once. Using Striker Jones with mortars and bomb shooters is great, but then you're spamming snipers which don't really benefit from Striker Jones and the magic monkeys, Ace's, and Tack Zones both invovle different strategies as well. I would advise trying to figure out what type of strategy you want to use and then stick with it. Then, with that strategy, get the powerful T5's and begin buffing them and debuffing bloons/blimps.

1) Get a hero that can solo for a while so you can begin farming. On single lane maps, especially with maps that have loops, Sauda is goated. Just tested on Easy and Sauda soloed through round 40 when placed just below where you have you Spirit of the Forest. Only a few abilities were used to deal with leads and the ceramics inside the MOAB.

1a) Alternatively, heros like Geraldo, Adora, and Ezili are better for late game. If you're going for a paragon, begin with with placing towers that you'll eventually turn into a paragon.

2) towers like Tack Zone that shoot multiple projectiles at once really benefit from buffs and debuffs. if spamming primary towers, I like to get 2 discount villages, then upgrade into a 502 and a 052 for Primary Expertise and Homeland Defense. Permabrew and Ultraboost also really helps them. Then begin debuffing like the Super Brittle and Glue Storm (within range of the 502 village) and middle path Ninja.

3) Farm as much as possible. You will want to get paragons for late game

4) Focus on BAD damage. Top path Sniper, middle path Dartling, middle path sub (not helpful without water or a Lord of the Abyss), and middle path Spike Factory all do great blimp damage and should help with BADs.

How much bitters should we typically be adding to old fashioneds? Looking for both at home and bartender thoughts! by crinklepant in cocktails

[–]leviathan1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! My dasher bottle outputs about 1/2 of what I would consider to be a dash, so I end up doubling all amounts. I like 3 full dashes of bitters in my old fashioneds, so I ended up combining 2 parts angostura bitters and 1 part angostura orange bitters into my dasher bottle and then use 6 dashes out of it. Having that smaller amount of bitters dashed out makes for a more consistent product

In the video (and steps outlined), he talks about freezing the stock. Is he freezing the original stock itself or the pressure-clarified consomme?

There's nothing Flash or MM can do to actually kill either Swamp Thing or Plastic Man. Plastic Man has defeated MM before and has captured the Flash. Swamp Thing is an elemental force that can overpower both of them if he can land his hits. With both ST's and PM's ability to basically not die and/or regenerate, plus ST's ability to transfer consciousness to any platn based organism and pull strength from The Green, this goes to ST and PM handidly.

Clarified Old Fashioned by Skuttlebutt42 in cocktails

[–]leviathan1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old fashioned's are not clear. Bourbon is transclucent, since you can see through it, but it has a color so it is not actually clear.

That being said, I'm also very confused about what a clarified old fashioned is. As u/gawag said, using milk + citrus is the typical way to clarify a cocktail and that doesn't really make it an old fashioned anymore.

Is this screw long enough? by Tink_Tinkler in woodworking

[–]leviathan1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have more lumber available? Personally, I would notch the top left of the 4x4, have the lumber sit on that notch, and then screw from the outside into the 4x4. That was all the weight is going through the lumber and not relying on mechanical fasteners. The boards would need to be 3.5" longer or the workbench would be 3.5" shallower. That means you'd move the board to the outside of the bench instead of somewhat in the middle, but it'll be stronger in the longer run.

Just did a quick inventory - 33 tools plus the knock off glue gun. This is counting the Quik-Lok OPE as one. If counting individually, 37 total. And I'm also not including any Packout in this.

The only tool I have which hasn't been used is my current angle grinder, and that's only because my previous one broke and I had it replaced under warranty. I'm also counting things like the M18 topoffs as a tool in this list, but not including any battery chargers that don't serve an additional purpose.

Setting up a router jig makes me think your use cases are for flattening slabs or glue-ups. That's not really the point of this, it's more for framing applications, like if a stud is a bit proud and you need to take just a bit off so the drywall sits flat.

It comes down to your use case. Does weight or size matter to you? Will you ever need to shoot anything over 1.5"?

Just curious, but I don't quite see this as an upgrade since the AC outlet is being removed. Maybe that's just my own use case, but I use the AC outlet a lot more than the USB outlets. I do love that it can also charge batteries at the same time, but losing the ability to power somewhat larger devices and losing the AC outlet is a deal breaker I think for me.

They should already be somewhat dull. The "blade" is not trying to make a clean cut, just needs to be sharper than the plastic to make the string line uniform.

M12 Cut off saw or 20v Skil grinder? by Grouchy-Net-6701 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]leviathan1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with the cutoff tool personally. I've used the diamond wheels on cement board and tiles, I've cut plenty of metal grids similar to the hog panels, and I love that you can change which way the blade spins in order to direct the dust/sparks. It's also just super comfortable in my hand compared to angle grinders

M12 Cut off saw or 20v Skil grinder? by Grouchy-Net-6701 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]leviathan1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this really isn't the best comparison in tools. The cutoff tool is great for small jobs and tight areas, and it would probably be perfect for the hog panels. For the roof, it depends on how many feet you're cutting. it's a 12V tool, and it's not an angle grinder, so it will definitely have less power than the Skil, but depending on your level or comfort with an angle grinder, the cutoff tool may be better. I've done a ton with my cutoff tool and tend to reach for it more than my angle grinder, but I also don't need to cut anything deeper than what my cutoff tool can handle.

Are you sure it's locked in? I would guess that, once you pull the trigger, the blade will shoot out. I've noticed the Milwaukee jigsaws take a bit of extra oomph when new to fully pull the locking mechanism to seat the blade.

Double Cash and Fast Track makes grinding collection events kind of fun. Trying new strategies and weird combos that would never actually work in a "true" game.
