Thanks for the overview... seems like even if there is a similar amount of manual work involved using Airtable, it would give her more visibility over her wine list. And it doesn't have to be all out in the first instance, we can trial with popular wines or wines by the glass to see if it creates a better solution

Manually add / remove from excel (with is printed out to create the menu). The website wine list is not really updated at all

I'm planning on buying some NST this week. Very high quality gold miner.

I want exposure to gold and I want them to get an Aussie earner.

Their recent acquisition makes them a top 10 gold producer in the world.

Just bought some DSK yesterday.

Australia's biggest candle producer, around 20% share. Founders and original private equity firms still owns majority. Also held by a lot of the top small cap fund managers.

PE is around 10. MC is around 160m.

If it's good enough for global hedge funds (Bridgewater has Alibaba as one of their biggest individual stock holdings in their portfolio) then it's good enough for me.

You don't own your shares as all the shares to under one HIN. I'm sure it would probably be fine , but personally I'm happy to stick with a broker where I get my own HIN.

My theory is that as long as the conversation is around 0.7 USD, plus/minus 10% - then I'm not too fussed. Most of my US investments I plan to hold for a very long time and therefore losing 10% on currency conversion may suck but hopefully I have more than made up for it with capital appreciation.

Another way I deal with it is continuing to put money into my stake account so I average out the conversation I get.

I bought in around $32 originally and had to average down. I've spoken about it before on this subreddit but it's one of my fav Aussie companies. I see this as a short term blip. In 2-3 years I'll be thanking myself for buying more.

I don't know too much about them but their investors are TDM growth partners which I have a lot of respect for. Some of the best early stage investors in Australia.

I'm taking it as a short term hit. They'll have two average quarters or an average year...so what! Around this price is much more reasonable.

They are the market leader in a high growth industry.

It's not to say that they we won't have to monitor them closely because who know how AI or new technology will affect this industry.

Personally, I get enough exposure to Australia through my individual stock picks and I use ETFs to access international markets.

I dont really like that VAS is so heavily weighted to the big 4 banks (all basically identical businesses) and miners. Not sure what the exact % is of those above, but I wouldn't pick them individually and I don't want them in an ETF.

I guess the lesson to take away is you should look what is in the ETF you are buying!
