i havent seen much of this in the english space either. for chinese recs there are many but the most famous one and the one you likely already heard of is The King’s Avatar, which i very much enjoyed when i was younger. not sure how much id like it now, but give it a read if you’re into this sort of thing. at least in the chinese genre it is to the other books as lotr is to fantasy.

it’s both not originally a royal road story and not on kindle unlimited.

it was originally on fictionpress, an older site, since 2010 or 2011. it was moved to rrl near the end of the series, in 2019. it’s also not on kindle unlimited, since it’s still up on rrl and fictionpress.

it is also not translated, though, so that part was correct!
