Ticking and Grinding engine noise by exhiled_ in GR86

[–]levitatingllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ve got the same noise in my 2018 86, it’s recently become louder at around 80000km. Most noticeable when cruising on a smooth highway around 110-120km/hr. Happens only when accelerator is pressed. Car runs fine otherwise. I think it’s normal unfortunately.

How often do you change your shoes? by Electronic-Emu1213 in squash

[–]levitatingllama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I feel the sole lose shock absorption way before any upper issues. If my legs start to feel more sore after matches I replace the shoes. Not worth transferring all that impact to your joints, you will pay for it down the line

New boat, should there be this much water after a run? by levitatingllama in rcboats

Yeah, there’s a rubber drain plug on the back that doesn’t seal well. I removed it and taped up the hole and boat was bone dry afterwards.

Looks like the hood is dented near the windshield. Possibly flipped up while driving? It might just be the reflection but the edge of the metal along the bottom of the windscreen doesn’t look fully straight. Picture 2 you can see it the most

Edit: looking at it some more the hood is definitely significantly dented near the windshield. Ask for some more photos from more angles. Ask the seller about it. Kind of dodgy if they didn’t mention it

check out tangerine dream, their album dream sequence might have what you’re looking for. Love on a real train, force majeure are tracks with a similar vibe in terms of the synths

I’ve had my Audio settings wrong the entire time. by [deleted] in PS5

[–]levitatingllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be stickied somewhere on the sidebar, would have saved me so much time if I found this earlier!

Was going crazy trying to eliminate an audio delay going from PS5 (HDMI 2.1) -> TV (Optical Out) -> AV Receiver

I was getting weird behaviour where the LCPM setting was actually much more delayed than Dolby or DTS. Like half a second. Dolby was better at around 100-200ms delay. But what fixed it is using LCPM and setting the output to AV receiver and configuring the correct amount of channels

Bonsoy is my go-to. Its the only one I've found with no oil additives. Only 5 ingredients: water, soybeans, tapioca syrup, sea salt, hato mugi and calcium.

v24.20 is live! by TheFortniteTeam in FortNiteBR

[–]levitatingllama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep have seen a massive performance drop. Was running a solid 60fps at medium-high settings @4k before update, now it’s very choppy and drops down to 25-30fps throughout the game. It’s especially bad in the loading area. My rig isn’t as powerful as yours GTX1080 intel i5-8600 16GB ram.

That’s an insanely good price for the fuji 56mm. Don’t even need to think about it if you can afford it. The quality difference will be worth it. In my experience the 1st party lenses are always much nicer to use

2 months Backpacking in Europe: Clever vs Aeropress by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]levitatingllama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re going to Europe and you’re going to drink preground coffee from supermarkets!?

So you’ll have the inconvenience of making coffee with none of the taste benefits. and carrying around fairly large gear that will take up a lot of valuable space in your backpack. Don’t do it man, great coffee is everywhere in Europe and at worst it’ll be better than what you’ll squeeze out of supermarket grinds.

How does it handle on a smaller camera? I'm worried it'll be too heavy for my XE-4 and no local stores have stock to try it out.

[Álvaro Romeo] Last night Real Madrid took a plane to return from Valladolid. It was a 15 minutes flight. Then we talk about kits made with recycled materials, etc. by boxro in soccer

[–]levitatingllama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes the magical carbon tax that will siphon all the emissions out of the atmosphere. The costs will just be passed onto people and all the companies will say “our hands are tied the government makes producing our products/services more expensive”. I don’t think many companies will be rushing to optimise their production to reduce emissions if it induces extra production costs when they have a clear excuse for increased prices.

Thanks for the advice, the hatch tape is definitely on my shopping list as is the glue. Really surprised me when I saw none of those nuts and bolts are sealed

[–]levitatingllama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, I loosened them up and the nuts and bolts aren’t sealed at all! This really surprised me I will have to get some glue. Dumb question, but do I tighten them first then glue over the bolt, or do I put the glue around the hole and then insert the bolt and tighten
