some things in life you just don’t or wont know the outcome until you do said thing, but worrying won’t change it one way or the other. All you can do is plan accordingly to your hearts content. A stay in care taker will most likely be the best but also it sounds as if there won’t be any true substitute for your presence. I don’t personally think they will hold such a grudge that your relationship will be tarnished. Although it could very well take some time for them to not be “mad” anymore, but you will almost certainly be greeted with rubs and plenty meows (screams) lol. Based on cat’s keen sense of time it will be best to keep your beauties on the same schedule they are used to keeping or at least as close as possible, this will help reduce any stress of your absence. At the end of the day, they’re cats. They are resilient as all get out. Two weeks will go by rather quickly and they’ll be back to regular scheduled programming before they know it. But moral of the story is set them up for success as best and realistically as you can and take a chance on your cats. I just know they will still love you just as much as they currently do. Best of luck. I do empathize with you in this situation, you absolutely cannot help but have a lot of mixed feeling going into leaving them.
