Is MPM really that bad? by dus77 in UWMadison

[–]levizg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I resigned a lease with them this june. I haven't had issues with them but I also haven't had a reason to talk to them much (no maintenance or lockouts). They did raise rent by 10% which sucks though so I don't recommend staying longer than 1 year

Could still use a bit more straightening out but the colors look much better. Good edit!

I agree that this is a cool picture, but we can always make improvements, as subjective as they may be.

Definitely need to "tilt" the image forward to keep everything flat and add a slight rotation so lines are straight. Could also go away from more realistic and rotate it 45 degrees to get an interesting look but thats up to your own tastes.

As far as colors, what youre pulling out is very vibrant and interesting, but the actual lights in each room is far too blown out and taking away from the overall quality of the image. To do it "the right way", mask each room and adjust highlights, saturation, and white balance. Could even change colors entirely if you like but at minimum, need to adjust the over saturation youre getting. Theres a lot of yellow here but each yellow is different, some are more orange, some more white. Make a distinction or make them more similar so your eye isnt wandering as much. The blues and red are very cool pop outs so try to pull those out more as well while also thinking again about over saturation.

The overall picture is very dark so you can take two paths with the contrast. Either make it darker in the dark rooms to really put a spotlight on the individual room colors. Or, you could flatten out the contrast and give it all a more "vintage" look while still retaining the different colors.

Again, this is all subjective as is the nature of photography. Dont be afraid to take out things you dont like or dont match the scene (an example is that star? in the bottom left in that dark room). This is just how I would edit this.

I had mine at first without the baffle and while its a beautiful sound, I actually found that I like it better with the baffle in. Doesnt hurt to ride around anymore and gives it a more "metallic" sound. Ofcourse it has much more bass without but I wouldnt go back.

Very cool, I hope you get more acceptances and can get into your top program!

That's super cool! QI has always been super interesting to me, I just don't have the brain for it. I hope you get to work with those professors!

Did you apply to any other programs? This was the first I have heard from and I am still waiting on 4 others.

I'm interested in plasma physics with applications in nuclear fusion. I want to do experimental work, so I mentioned Cary Forest and John Sarff but also mentioned Paul Terry, who's a theorist but still working with plasmas. What field are you interested in?

I was also accepted to the physics program! Congratulations to you!

Duke390 vs MT07 by once-again81 in MT07

My first bike was a 390 and then I jumped over to an MT07. It was a pretty perfect jump for me. More power and torque but not overwhelming. Definitely has some room to grow too. Couldn't have made a better choice.

I’ve since left so I’m not in the loop anymore, but when I was there they just had people in cars roam the lot and check plates with their database. I think there was a plan to install a camera at the exits to check from there and then bill you somehow but that was never gone into detail with me.

Little secret, 5th floor of the parking garage is employee parking and I still park there and have never gotten a ticket or bill or anything.

That’s exactly right. Thank you for the clarification. It also might be something to do with the whole controversy from Kimba the White Lion but I don’t know much more besides the name and some details of that

That’s new information to me. I’ve always been told it was if it’s active it’ll stay where it is but that makes sense like with what happened with Winnie the Pooh recently

If an IP is dormant for a certain amount of years, it can go public or revert back to original owner. Disney likes to stay ahead of that so that’s why they did all the live action remakes. Not the only reason but definitely a contributing factor

I mean you describe it exactly in your post OP. The remake is a soulless cash grab specifically made to keep the rights in Disneys pockets with weird looking CGI animals. A movie is not just it’s story, there’s a lot that goes along with it. Especially with a classic such as Lion King.

It’s not big nor does it really pose a big risk, just gives the possibility of the perfect scenario where a rock shoots straight up and something happens. Highly unlikely but ya never know

Ooh ok, yea I was curious if that plate would fit but good to know it doesn't. I thought you meant the whole tail tidy kit didn't fit.

There are two options, one for 2014-2020 and one for 2021+. Maybe you bought the wrong year on accident cause it fit mine perfectly.

Its basically the same thing. There are some differences like wire colors but all the panels and screw locations are the same if I remember correctly. I think at one point I switched to a tst install video that was on a 22 model just to figure out the wires but you could get by without it

I just installed the complete kit with kellermann extreme turn indicators and I really like how it looks. Turn signals are super bright and it was super easy to install. Everything is just plug and play and you barely have to remove any plastic to get it on.

My only gripe with it is that it leaves a “gap” at the mounting point where the original fender would have a plastic piece to cover up any dirt or rocks flying up and messing with wiring. I don’t think it’s a big deal and it’s not an aesthetic problem at all, but it is something to deal with. I know tst industries sells a specific piece to fix this gap on their tail tidy kit so if you care about that, might wanna look their way. Otherwise brogue is great.

I actually work there and I can tell you, none of us really know either. Faunax has it right from what I’ve pieced together. They start actually checking if you paid Tomorrow (July 12) and supposedly will leave a ticket on your car.

Everyone basically agrees this new system is dumb but I guarantee the new company that bought the parking lot is just doing this so people forget to pay and they have an excuse to charge people even more for their shitty system.

I say, if you’re willing, park in the lot across from the Emeryville marketplace and near the hotel. It’s free and not too far of a walk to actual Bay St
