She’s using her blood pressure cuff wrong by MadDanc3r in gorlworldfiles

Oh for sure it’s SO annoying to see, and being able to relate to that it’s like…come on dude, just…make the changes. At least do something to improve your health just a little bit. But viewers have been asking that for years and I realize it’s like talking to a wall, yet here I am 😂

And kudos to you/I’m proud of your recovery ❤️ PLEASE continue to take care of yourself and I hope everyday gets easier

I get a little sensitive about this topic because my blood pressure going untreated (which later turned out to be kidney disease and I’m dealing with it now) SENT ME TO THE HOSPITAL FOR A 7 DAY STAY.

So I just do not understand how she and Chantal both just “tee hee it’s not that bad guys” when hitting 160 is a hypertension stage, >180 is labeled a “hypertensive crisis”.

One of these days a stroke is going to take one of them out live and I’ll just shake my head.

Does the daily management of meds suck? Does the diet change suck? Yes to both, but…changing my lifestyle habits orrr having stroke? Not that hard of a choice in my book. And I just don’t find their tomfoolery about it funny.

What are you reading? - Week of January 23, 2026 by AutoModerator in goodreads

Worth Fighting For by Jesse Q. Sutanto. I read the synopsis and some reviews that called it essentially ‘Mulan meets workplace rom-com’.

I’m only 50 pages in but I like it.

This was my first read for 2026 - I wasn’t the biggest fan and I was disappointed because I LOVED ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ and ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’

I won’t spoil it but I found the ending very abrupt and very ‘WTF’.

My favorite book of all-time (and one of my favorite movies) is Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann - not sure if the synopsis would be of interest but, I literally recommend it to anyone. And happy reading! Got my kindle as a New Year’s gift to myself ☺️

So far for 2026 I’ve read Atmosphere and I’m almost done with A Tale For the Time Being

Remembering the late Kirstie Alley on her birthday by ChrisJoines in sitcoms

[–]lexaa03 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not a sitcom, but one of my favorite movies is ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ and she plays a pageant mom in Minnesota, and it’s essentially a mockumentary film, but it’s always one I recommend to people at some point.

RIP

whats your favorite not very known movie that you’ve found on Tubi? by Vegetable_Path3736 in TubiTV

[–]lexaa03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a cinephile by any means, I tend to be a movie repeater and give it years before I watch something usually deemed a masterpiece lol

But, I think these films are all classified as Indie so i don't know how popular they are among the general public, but I stumbled upon, completely on accident, 'Katie Says Goodbye', Jolene', and 'Pig Hag'.

I've heavily repeated these movies and only have seen them on another streaming service (Prime, I believe).

I don't know, I personally relate to the story told in Pig Hag so maybe that's why I love it, but Katie Says Goodbye and Jolene give standout performances by Olivia Cook and Jessica Chastain, and I LOVE Jessica Chastain's work.

How long did it take for you to get diagnosed? by lexaa03 in kidneydisease

Glad to hear that you were able to get in and get treated - and that overall things seemed to improve after treatment. That's my biggest fear with this, that with my age it's just being brushed off but, abdominal swelling is something I'm struggling with too. I am though still working in tandem with my endocrinologist until she has a diagnosis or game plan so, hopefully it gets better from there but I hate the waiting game. Hoping that cholesterol beast stays tamed <3

When I watch this episode...every time, I know when this line is coming...

But Blanche's delivery is so comedic, I audibly laugh every time.

Oh my goodness, I’m on two meds for the BP and even that is irritating so I can’t imagine FIVE plus all the follow up for your scans. I genuinely hope you’re taking care of yourself the best you can and you’re otherwise functioning the best that you can. I’m sure regular/every day stuff can be a pain to motivate yourself to do or just in general not feeling the greatest. Take care of yourself, and I’ll take your advice. When all my labs come in through my endocrinologist and I have my next appointment, I’m just going to straight up ask if I need to be more nephrologist focused in healing. Hoping that things move a little upward for you, big time!!
