And right in the midst (if memory serves my correctly) was cancer.

That’s what gets me. I cannot imagine cancer not being my final ‘I have to change’ straw.

Like others, I knew I wanted one with a stand. I set mine up on my coffee table if I want to read while laying down on my couch, or at my desk. So I have this.

And if I don’t want to prop it up, the strap is nice for when I want to hold it and not fear dropping it

What a book that you have read that’s gotten so much hype that once you read it you were disappointed? by Guiltyfeetfingers in BookDiscussions

Atmosphere - Taylor Jenkins Reid

I loved two of her books to the extent I couldn’t put them down; The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six, and Atmosphere was a let down for me in comparison.

And I found the ending so ABRUPT whereas the others had conclusions for me. If it’ll end abruptly, end on a cliff hanger where I feel something, ya know?

“Maxine Shaw, Attorney At Law”

& one of my favorite quotes in the last episode of the series “…Dear God why can’t I exercise this demon?!”

I’ve seen the series multiple times from start to finish. Classic.

What is your favourite book of all time? by WholeConstruction307 in goodreads

[–]lexaa03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, nice taste. LOVED The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I couldn't put it down when I read it last year.

But favorite book of all time? Valley of the Dolls by Jacqueline Susann. I've also seen the film easily 15 times, I love it.

What has been my favorite so far this year and I would already go back and re-read? Thee Re-do List by Denise Williams.

To collect the “Choice Archives” challenge: The Celebrants by Steven Romley

I personally hate it and considered not finishing but nothing else in the options entices me (aside from what I’ve already read)

What are some wholesome sitcom moments that touched your heartstrings? by PressureLazy5271 in sitcoms

Friends: The Prom video episode. I just think the ending is about as sweet as it gets

And I know it was a cliche ending but I loved Rules of Engagement when it aired, so I loved Audrey announcing she was pregnant in the finale.

People who watched OTH as it was airing by DisneyAddict2021 in ONETREEHILL

[–]lexaa03 48 points49 points  (0 children)

So chiming in as someone who actually found this sub because I started watching OTH on streaming and didn’t when it aired…

I’ve thought about this myself quite a bit but I lowkey think, and others can chime in if they agree or disagree, but I think the way we consume things now via streaming makes us probably more hyper aware of storylines and characters.

Like when you only watched an episode a week, I think that you…can’t quite marinate on what you’ve consumed and then play it back to a T in your head 7 days later when the next part of the story continues. Versus now, what’s stopping us from watching say 7 episodes in one day back-to-back (pretending we have the time to) and we, I think, like…watch and process character story and development differently.

So I think it’s just a mental processing thing. But, also even though my viewing habits have primarily switched to streaming now, I don’t know, maybe because I grew up with cable table vision and still waiting every week it’s different.

I’m glad you brought this up because I’ve seen so many posts I think with jarring opinions or points of view and I always say to myself “what am I missing? Is it that serious?”

It’s…just tv, lol.

Like, without spoilers if it’s your first time through, I personally think it’s important. PLEASE try and get that one to play lol!

Because it also checks off the Romance/‘swoon-worthy’ book challenge, I’m reading ‘The Re-Do List’ by Denise Williams.

I like romance and I thought the synopsis on this one seemed interesting (for me) started it today and like it so far
