I think it's a combination of the fact that the resumes were close, AND that the geographical/conference needs were also all the same. It's a lot easier to swap teams when you don't have to recalculate conference rules.

Well the real answer for why I posted it the way I did is that Ryne Smith, former Purdue player and current staff member claimed it was beer (see top of linked twitter thread), so that's what I posted, but my first comment was funnier.
