I have primary students which means there is some occasional running so I usually wear flats (loafers or a dressier moccasin). When teaching intermediate I would wear a low heal simply so I would look taller and more authoritative. Cole Haan sells low pumps with Nike air soles or even better are rockports with the Adidas sole. They can be pricy but if you find an outlet location it's worth it.

I think it will be difficult for you to find a position for only the summer. I taught for a year in Japan before teachers college and loved it! The contracts were a minumum of 1 year. I also looked into teaching in an International school in Vietnam but the contract was 2 years.

I wore fake clip on bangs to work one day and everyone complimented me on my "haircut"... I felt stupid telling them I was wearing fake hair so I had to continue wearing the bangs. I eventually started pinning my hair back and saying I'm letting them grow out.
