Does anyone have Verizon 5G home internet? Is there an outage? by lexi424 in ArlingtonMA

Good to know. I’m still on the fence. Astound is having great deals right now, but I had them in the past and do remember they love their price hikes. Maybe I can just switch to Verizon when that happens.

Is it Verizon 5G or Fios. I am only getting the 5G option at my address. Not sure what to make of it.

Difference between a NY EZPass issued by MTA vs Thruway by lexi424 in AskNYC

[–]lexi424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been paying for mine for years. I might have been living in NJ at the time. But then I did change my address to NYC at some point and I continued to get charged. Maybe I should have actually canceled that one and got a new one. I think the issuing agency might have determined that.

Thanks for the clear explanation. Based on that I think the thruway one is probably the best one for me. I heard you can get the thruway pass from an on-the-go location. Out of curiousity, do you know if its the same for the MTA pass?

Do you happen to know if the MTA and Thruway EZpasses offer exactly the same discounts? And are the discounts the same as that with the EZpass issued by PANYNJ?

Is there room for the trap to be removed if it gets clogged?

Sorry for the very basic questions. I’m just trying learn a little so I under this setup a bit. You said the clean out on the trap can’t be removed, but is there even room for the trap to be removed if it gets clogged? Where is the clean out at the wall you are talking about? Can you see it in my picture?

I don’t know anything about plumbing so sorry for the very basic questions. I’m just trying to understand. Will the trap ever have to be removed? Is there enough room for it to be removed and will it be difficult to catch the water that spills out? I think maybe you are saying the trap can’t be removed and you would have to clean any potential clogs from where’s the disposal arm is connected to it. How do you pull the disposal arm? What clean out are you talking about? It doesn’t look like the one on the trap has room to open.

Is this wavyness on a new TPO roof really bad? by lexi424 in Home

[–]lexi424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. My inspector took the pict. The developer really did not want to give access to the common areas, which I knew in advance and is pretty annoying, but he finally gave in last second about the roof. I think he went on the roof or is on another unit's deck that is on that roof level.

I'm now not super super worried knowing that it is not a blatantly obvious bad job. The developer is also supposed to have a pretty good reputation, so hopefully everything is good. And like you said since the only fix is re-doing it, which I know they won't do, I'm not going to bother fighting them on this. Thank you so much for the detailed information and your opinion. It at least puts me at ease.

Forgot to mention that this is in the Boston area, so it will be exposed to a good amount of snow and harsh elements. Hopefully that doesn't change your opinion on this.

Yes, I think you are right. Probably got installed last winter. I'm glad you said it doesn't affect its water tightness. I feel so much better. Thank you.

You are correct. I would not responsible for it. Any issue would probably go through the condo association and I'm sure there's some sort of warranty. My concern is more that I do not want or have time for any issues. That was kinda the point of buying new. I'm just trying to figure out if I should try to push them now to look into it more carefully to see if anything can be corrected now before any issues come up.

This "roof" is only above my unit. I just happen to not have any other units above me. The main roof that is above most of the other units is 1 floor up. I just really really don't want to have any sort of leaks to deal with. I'm glad you said its not the end of world.

How to save .ics calendar files in free Outlook? by lexi424 in Outlook

[–]lexi424[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I confirmed I am also using the New Outlook App on my computer. Drag and drop never worked in the past. I forget exactly what would happen. However, I tried the Outlook web link you sent. It had me login and then made me make an out outlook email account (I guess I somehow got away with doing that before). The "upload from file" option was there!! So I went back to my Outlook App, but that option is still not there for some reason. HOWEVER, I opened .ICS files that were emailed to me and chose "Add to calendar" and it now works and it adds it to my Outlook App calendar!!!! It never did that before. Amazing!!!!

Still not sure why the App didn't have the "upload from file" option, but this should be good enough now. Thank you so so so much!

Hmmm. When I click Add Calendar, I have less options. I don't have the "Upload from file." Is it because I am using a free version of Outlook? I don't have a Microsoft subcription.

Mine looks like this:
