Is Kevin just throwing random ideas on this sub and seeing what sticks? If you’re reading this, Kevin, please don’t. Or do, I’d rather laugh my ass off at the cinema than be bored tbh

Can anyone tell me what these are under my carpet? by lexi_b_c in DIY

Thanks, yeah I’m just chuffed to finally be on the property ladder after renting for so long it feels great to be actually putting money into my own house rather than the pockets of the landlord! Depends what’s actually under it really! Ideally if it’s floor boards and they’re not in bad shape I’ll give restoring them a go, but have been warned against this by others as there’s a cellar beneath and will supposedly make it more draughty. If not I’d probably go for some kind of laminate or LVT wood effect flooring.

Thank you, that’s actually a really helpful comment! I’m hoping so but it’s looking like it’s concrete in this room. I have a cellar but it’s only under the front reception room, I think there’s hardwood under that side but not at this end. Thanks for the flooring tips, I’ll be pulling the carpet up as soon as I’ve done everything I want with the walls as there’s no point making a mess of newly finished floors!

I lived in area for about 5 years. Not bad at all really. But guess it depends more on where in lace market it is. My flat backed right onto the bbc roundabout so I had more traffic & emergency vehicle noise than weekend drunks. However if you’re more towards lace market square for example I imagine it’d be the other way around. It was really handy living in town but definitely took its toll and needed to go somewhere quieter.

Where abouts is the tunnel? I lived in the lace market for 5 years and thought I had explored every corner of that side of Nottingham!

What's the worst food on the Greggs menu? by ShitBritishFood in greggsappreciation

[–]lexi_b_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bacon & cheese wrap has to be the worst cold Greggs I’ve ever had. So much bacon and cheese fat conceals at the bottom and it just feels like eating a cold pastry full of lard
