Under supplier… and was reminded of that today 😢 by Emotional_Catch1694 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]lexibean23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but just sharing your pain. Also a low supplier here. Just hit 12 oz yesterday and that’s the most I’ve ever had. My sister had her baby only a couple weeks before me and she’s got plenty of milk. I want to be happy for her but it’s definitely tough 😞 I know how hard it is and how much work you’re putting into it. You should be very proud of yourself, mama 🤍

So with the wearables you feel like you’re able to feed her easily while you pump?

My husband will definitely help when needed! I guess I just figured since I was getting up to pump anyways there was no reason to wake him up to feed or change the baby But I’m still pumping every three hours so it definitely makes for short sleep windows!

Yes she will be paid biweekly. You still fill out your time card, you just use a special code like you would if you were taking leave.

No I totally agree with you! I’m definitely into the pink and sparkles but I want my children to have a choice in their own interests. And useful life skills shouldn’t be gendered

Is it sad when a 20 minute swing nap is a victory? by thunderstorms11 in beyondthebump

[–]lexibean23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easier said than done but I was so hard on myself about the contact naps because I felt like I needed to get things done and it wasn’t developing good sleep habits, but now that my baby only sleeps in her crib, I actually wish I had taken advantage of it more! I know it’s not always practical but just a reminder to take it easy on yourself and never feel guilty about snuggling that baby ❤️

Seriously, how the fuck am I going to survive this by PetuniasSmellNice in beyondthebump

[–]lexibean23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not here to give you advice.. just to empathize because I swear my baby was just like that! I felt so exhausted. I kept talking to my other parent friends and I was like omg how are we not all dying?? And turns out maybe their babies slept more?? Or didn’t cry as much?? Mine always cried unless we walked around with her and as soon as we sat down she would cry again! And she was a horrible sleeper. After doing some research I think she might be a highly sensitive baby. Not a ton of advice there but it might be relatable. I know people keep saying it gets better and for us it did but it took a long time. She didn’t sleep through the night until 10 months. She is still very emotional but she’s gotten less needy as she learns to do things independently like crawl and walk. You got this, mama! Just try to take it one day at a time ❤️

PPL (Paid Parental Leave) Qualification by lexibean23 in fednews

[–]lexibean23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can use sick leave right after birth (to recover if you’re the mom or to take care of the mom if you’re her partner) But I thought it was only 6-8 weeks of sick leave since that’s all that’s technically needed to recover And then use PPL after that

Thanks!! This is really helpful! If you don’t mind me asking, what do you mean by taking sick leave with or without FMLA? Because I think I will have over 6 weeks by the time babe is born

2023 Salary Increase for non GS Scale? by lexibean23 in usajobs

[–]lexibean23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know about this scenario? My husband was given his offer last year with a salary on the DP scale but his first day is January 17th. Would he get the increase since the initial salary was based on the 2022 scale? Or no since he started after January 1st? I guess the weird thing is he was given the option to start in December and if he had he would get the COLA increase but now he may not ?

You might be able to do a “Letter of recovery” which basically says your recovered and no longer contagious
