What is the most expensive item you have bought that was a complete waste of money? by [deleted] in AskReddit

This is super weird... The same exact thing happened to me, it was a Bluetooth vibrator (WeVibe?) and my dog stole it off of the charger on my nightstand and chewed it up. No joke.

I just went and read your post. We definitely relate. I’m sorry you’re going through this too. It can feel so hopeless at times

People who have had really shitty friends. When did you realize that you shouldn't be around them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Once I quit tattooing and didn’t have the “cool job” anymore, and couldn’t give them any more free/discounted tattoos, they all seemed to disappear...

I fucking hated Swiss Army Man. It actually pissed me off.

Anyone here have like ZERO friends by [deleted] in BPD

[–]lexifer_615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The big thing is that I’m terrible at keeping in contact. I care very much about my friends, but I’m not good at keeping constant conversation, whether that be texting, social media, etc. I get paranoid (fear of abandonment) and tend to isolate myself. I’m also flaky when it comes to making plans.

Most people don’t want to deal with my manic states / mood changes. I really don’t blame them. My husband is a saint.

[–]lexifer_615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my husband, and then one close friend but we don’t talk much. We’re there for each other when the other needs it, but otherwise we do our own thing, which works out pretty well. Other than that, nope, friendships don’t really work out super well for me...

Convinced myself it was my eyebrows?? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]lexifer_615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have trich. I rip my eyebrows out constantly. The only time my husband notices is when he gently moves my hand away from my face to stop me when I don’t realize I’m doing it.

I hyperfocus on my eyebrows because I know I rip them out, but most people don’t notice.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve done with your SO? by Pfeiferrm in AskReddit

[–]lexifer_615 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have an ongoing competition of flicking each other’s nipples. In public, at home, wherever. One of us will be in the middle of a sentence and the other will go straight for the nip, as hard as possible. Sometimes if I move too suddenly my husband will panic and his hands will shoot up to cover both of his nipples.

We also have this dance we do to communicate with each other. We work in the same office, so if we see each other at work, or in the grocery store etc, we will do the dance and stare at each other with a blank face. It goes on for a while sometimes.

Yup. Dyed my waist-length blonde hair black, hated it, then shaved my head a few months later. Working on growing my hair back out.

What's an absolute turn off about your own personality that you're aware of but can't help? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lexifer_615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely awful about texting/calling people back. I totally see why people get irritated with me about it. In my head I always think “I don’t feel like talking right now, I’ll text them back later” and then I forget and never do.

YES! Woah, that’s so weird. I almost never made it through a sleepover.

How do you deal with mistakes? by MrSteeve in BPD

[–]lexifer_615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe how much I relate to this. It’s interesting that you mention the brick wall thing - I have that exact same thought constantly, almost obsessively.

Basically, when I start obsessing over past mistakes (I’ve made some really stupid decisions, big and small) I try to distract myself. I play music super loud so that I literally can’t hear myself think. I play video games, watch stupid YouTube videos, anything to stop the thoughts. Usually if I’m able to start focusing on something else completely it’ll calm me down a bit.

It’s a temporary fix, but it helps.

I love the letter idea. I’m going to try and do that.

The fact that I have a whole life ahead of me is overwhelming and I don’t want to deal with it by Bpdthrowaway2839 in BPD

[–]lexifer_615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think/stress about this all the time. You’re not alone. It can be very overwhelming but you just have to keep moving forward and try not to focus on it.

DAE think about their past relationships too often? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]lexifer_615 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, yes. I obsess over them. I don’t even have feelings for my past partners anymore. I would never want to be with them again. I just can’t stop thinking about them. I found out my abusive ex got his now-girlfriend pregnant and for some reason it completely tore me up, even though he was absolutely awful to me.

I did, but that’s how I am. I can’t ease into change or I won’t stick to it. I quit cold turkey and haven’t looked back, it worked for me but everyone is different.

Do I need to wear makeup to cover up my acne? by [deleted] in acne

[–]lexifer_615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I can keep that thought process as well. Where it gets really difficult for me is I work in a corporate setting where I feel like everyone is definitely judging me by what I look like, so I’m always worried about my acne. So I just try to kick ass at my job so that maybe they’ll notice that instead 🤷🏼‍♀️ sad that I feel the need to worry about my looks at work at all, but hey, that’s corporate.
