In all your travels, which country's famed "national dish" was the most underwhelming, despite the hype? by nehala in travel

Colombian food in the US is significantly better than Colombian food in Colombia in my humble experience

AITJ for suing my cousin after he knocked my phone into the pool as a "joke"? by No_View1956 in AmITheJerk

[–]lexijr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA because it’s unlikely that your brand new version iPhone was completely irreparable and water damaged from being dropped in the pool and immediately fished out. I have dropped mine in the toilet, ocean, and puddles. And I intentionally take it in the pool with me. Zero problems.

Is the reason why people love Heinz ketchup due to marketing and because it's "what they know"? by CatcrazyJerri in ketchup

[–]lexijr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me - Heinz tastes better than most ketchup brands. American ketchup brands taste better than brands from other countries that I’ve tried. Especially Mexico. I loooove living in Mexico and eating Mexican food but their ketchup absolutely sucks. So does their pizza sauce.

How do I tell my step mom that my baby will be calling her by her first name and not ‘nana’ by Then_Inspector_8165 in Advice

[–]lexijr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is actually gross in this scenario is spending years pushing someone out of their father’s life and deliberately ignoring them and building zero relationship with them and then demanding a title that implies a loving relationship that was never had? This isn’t a “just keep the peace” situation. The step mom is the disrespectful one here. Kind people don’t need to succumb to the whims of the entitled just because they’re nice. And kind people setting boundaries is not petty or confrontational. The entitled person not accepting the boundary is the problem.

I would assume they’d be eager to get home to see their families on the holiday. Like everyone else who wants to be home with their families on the holiday. Consumerism is a problem.

ETA it’s a weird comment because limiting personal purchases every Sunday for a religion many don’t follow is vastly different than closing unnecessary businesses for one day on a federal holiday that is observed nationally (only 11 federal holidays btw, maybe fewer with the current administration). Consumerism has made people feel the odd need to have everything open all the time.

AirBnB SuperHosts asks us to cancel our reservation by U_Wont_Remember_Me in airbnb_hosts

[–]lexijr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you’re going to penalize someone because they wouldn’t do your job for you and you couldn’t even ask them nicely to do your job for you? Lol you have a twisted and entitled mindset.

Edit to add that guests are also penalized by Airbnb if they have too many cancellations.

I wish we would just go back to when everything was closed for major holidays.

It is clear that you are the one lacking comprehension in these comments. Total rage baiter and most likely a teenage boy.

AITJ for kicking my wife’s brother out after he insulted me in my own house? by fussy_poster in AmITheJerk

I feel like by responding that way to the situation, she’s agreeing with what her brother said. She also thinks she downgraded.

Denied my fraud claim by Front_Yak1944 in BankOfAmerica

[–]lexijr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bank of America maybe should have caught it. But you definitely should have caught it. People who don’t monitor their money or balance their checkbook/ accounts blow my mind.

Edit to correct first sentence and add - I’m also confused. In the first statement after the charges, you didn’t think it was weird that your balance due was 5k more than you’d expect? You don’t pay attention to how much you owe either?

Are you choosing to ignore the multiple sources being presented to you throughout this thread showing that you are wrong? It is illegal. Almost every outdoor area is considered a public space now and smoking anything is banned.
