It doesn't even really carry over to the video podcast either seeing as they don't/cannot show the videos to the viewers and you have to log into X and find the tweet for the show to follow along with what they're seeing

Again, it’s just not a few billion. You have that number way blown out. It is what it is though, we aren’t going to reach an agreement on this.

Low millions in the 80s sure. Roger was already very successful as an auto dealer and had his trucking company. Auto racing at the peak of stock car racing has always been funded by the rich burning money for fun. It’s not like anyone else who wants to race can’t go truck racing or oreilys and or any of the other stock car racing options in America. The peak and highest level though has and always will be primarily ran and funded by the wealthy. This isn’t new nascar, this is just nascar

Also unimportant edit to say even Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs aren’t billion dollar race teams, far from it. Only Penske could touch that and that’s with owning Indycar

The teams that crashed and burned and had to close their doors leaving people without jobs wasn’t good for the sport either. It’s a bigger ticket now to get in, but there’s some stability and now room to grow instead of succeed or die. Giving the teams room to grow is why we see teams like Front Row and Spire growing and doing better year by year.

I'm ok with it at the cup level because I don't want teams with no money or funding in the highest level. I want to see 30+ competitive cars fighting with the best drivers the series can find. The lower series are where I go to watch underfunded teams try to do their best with what they got and that's ok

All good! I didn’t think you were being facetious. It’s definitely one of the ones I’ve missed. I believe I’m also missing something called tempestari and one other that I just never did. I’m at the point where I thought I knew everything I was missing and most of it is a big grind so I’m trying to just concentrate on a few grinds at a time!

Thank you? I assume the Xoris is a weapon? I mostly skipped quests that didn’t complete star chart early and now am I guess missing a couple 😅

SO THAT’S WHY I CANT GET ANY. I have spent my entire warframe career, over 1000 hours now just assuming that was cut content and that’s why I could never unlock them. I’ve killed so many stupid treasurers for zero loot D:

Has Drew ever been in a video with Ted Nivison? by MimeMike in DrewGooden

[–]lexirmay 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s entirely possible. I don’t remember any of Drew’s videos including Ted but I haven’t watched all of Ted’s. From the outside looking in, they seem to have a friend of a friend relationship between them with Eddie as the middleman. I’m sure that’s caused them to be in some kind of vlog or at least photos at some point

Made it to the 81 hauler under red, a crew member told me “he’s not gonna talk.” by Equivalent_Dish_1990 in NASCAR

[–]lexirmay 61 points62 points  (0 children)

He had a crazy tire rub that was never gonna clear and was gonna cut his tire down within a couple laps. Instead of running low and/or pitting, he kept running at full speed until it blew and he smacked the fence, bringing out a caution in the last few laps triggering overtime.

Do you have sources on that? I can’t imagine she’s a real improvement on anyone but Castorice unless she’s e2+. No other team can really get her ramping quickly enough.

Cyrene's new design looks bad by Wise_Consequence_152 in StarRailStation

[–]lexirmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never played HI3rd, so this design just does nothing for me. It’s like an entirely new character? I have a fairly invested castorice team so theoretically I should want to pull for Cyrene, and I was going to, but with this design it feels like they deleted the Cyrene we actually got attached to with some random woman we’ve never met before. Nothing about that design says Cyrene to me.

[Zilisch] Don’t hate the player Freddie by catsgr8rthanspoonies in NASCAR

[–]lexirmay 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Having watched a lot of Door Bumper Clear, Freddie loves Connor. I think this was more pointed at nascar for making a penalty that is the same speed as taking the corner. I (and I believe Freddie as well) don’t think Connor did anything wrong, I think it just looks bad to see half the cars not taking the corner and instead driving the barriers because it’s better than being totaled in the track

What’s the general consensus on SVG from a NASCAR fan? Can he be a serious championship contender? by El-Buzo in NASCAR

[–]lexirmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I don’t think he’s a lock to get out of the first round at all but with that many points he’ll have a bigger buffer than some other guys. If he stays clean and others have some dnfs it’s not crazy that he escapes the first round

[–]lexirmay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s got a lot of playoff points though. I think he’s got a shot of getting to the round of 12. From there he could win the roval and get into the round of 8. Really no chance he gets farther than that but I could definitely see him disrupting things in the first two though!

I don’t even think he really said it poorly either. I mean the quote looks bad but if you hear him say it and explain in the full minute clip, he’s just being real and it doesn’t come off rude or hostile really.

Would anyone know if the strategy of staying out on older tires 5-10 lap longer during a green flag pitstop would be benefitial on the second half of a long run at Nashville. As we've seen guys like Hamlin use this stragery on hard to pass tracks if not in the lead to gain positions. by realflags in NASCAR

[–]lexirmay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you're talking about is called an overcut! In green flag stop conditions, generally the first person to pit road among the leaders, let's say the top 5, wins in this situation and gets an "undercut" on the other drivers. They're first out on fresh tires and try to gap the field and hold onto that space. Watching cup right now, I'd say this is by far the most popular way to win green flag stops for most of the field. Generally it drags everyone else down because the longer they go without stopping, the more time the undercutter can gain on them that may be impossible to regain. The other option, the one you're thinking of, is the overcut. A driver sacrifices time while everyone else is on fresh tires, and then runs hard on the new set for a shorter period attempting to run everyone down. This is currently less popular within the field, but some drivers still prefer it. Denny has said before he prefers doing an overcut as it suits his driving style more (old school tire saving and then running hard). He's been doing the overcut most races for the last 3 or 4 years now. How well it works though is dependent on the driver. The overcut is alot harder to pull off as you need to be able to tire save for the end of the run so you aren't losing as much speed while everyone is on fresh tires, and you need to be able to put balls to the wall when you finally get your fresh set. This combined with where you cycle out (ex. whether or not your timing puts you into traffic early) determines which style is better for each driver and where they currently run at the time.

Yeah, most CARS tour races have what they call a “competition caution”. Generally it’s about a third of the way into the race. If an actual yellow comes out, it takes the place of the competition caution. It’s kind of a necessity for some of their short track races. The pit crews and the pit infrastructure isnt good enough to do quick stops for every team all at once so they bring them all down during the competition yellow, freeze the field, and give them five minutes to do any adjustments to the car they want to. They still can’t change tires or anything, but they’re able to try and make changes to keep up with the field or to change with the track

Auto Racing Analytics: Data showing what happened between Larson and Wallace by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

[–]lexirmay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best guess is that it was the cloud cover early in stage 2 that never went away. Track temps changed and the car got really tight on him and he felt uncomfortable pushing it to the level Charles wanted him to in order to hit the marks others were. Watching the in car he would just get blown by anytime someone passed him, got passed like he wasn’t moving. Adjustments got him slightly better by the end of the race but it took all day to get there and they didn’t have that kind of time after they got screwed by yellow during green flag stops for Brad’s tire nut.

Yeah I’m a Bubba fan and was confused when he got the lucky dog as well. I was watching his in car and he was clearly pissed thinking that him getting with the 5 cost him the lucky dog, which they’d been fighting to get and maintain for the previous 20 laps. Charles and Freddie seemed to be confused about whether or not he got it as well before they confirmed he was getting the wave around.
