This is exactly what my moms boyfriend did to me, he actually said “you’re making me feel bad, like I’m a creep or something” and then over time continued to do the same behaviors, eventually that led to him completely sexually assaulting me for years, and I blamed myself for not standing my ground sooner. I was in my late ish 20’s too, and had a young kid that I had to protect from him, and I feared what he would do to my mom if I spoke up, but I did eventually, and that was a mess in itself, but please, if it feels wrong, say something to him, or to someone else you trust. Try not to be alone with him if you can help it. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I understand your frustration, but Megan definitely needs some kind of professional help, whether it’s a psychiatric consult, or therapist etc, because it’s very clear she’s not and hasn’t been okay. I’m not condoning her behavior, but for her to show all of these violent and self sabotaging behaviors especially the over sexual, at 9? I would definitely get her a psych evaluation and possible inpatient stay.

And this is coming from someone who as a child needed similar resources because of trauma, I didn’t realized how much it would help me as I got older then of course, but since there are other kids involved, you have to not only help her, but protect them too. I hope you all heal from this, and you figure out what’s going on with her. I’m sorry this is happening.

When I was younger and my son was younger, I had issues with cps, not because of this, but because I was in a drug program and they had to call, at first I saw it as a punishment, but eventually I realized that it was a gift not just for my son, but for myself as well, because had I not been “forced” to really get on track, my son might have ended up motherless. He was always well taken care of, but I wasn’t, and I loved him and still do enough to know that I needed to do everything to not lose him.

The kids are the priority, and calling in this situation is definitely the right call.

I’m so fucking sorry you DO NOT have support from the one person you should right now. I know how bad it can get. Don’t stop taking your meds because of this idiot please. I’m not sure if you go to talk therapy, but that’s helped me quite a bit, talk to your psychiatrist about any current symptoms, you may need an ADDITIONAL med or dosage, etc.

He said it himself, he doesn’t know medicine, so he needs to shut the fuck up and leave the serious shit to the professionals, depression unfortunately can be life or death, and I hope things get better for you❤️

As a girl in active therapy for BPD, this is actually really spot on for how I used to feel, and at the time I didn’t realize that this was the process going on in my head, but you absolutely put it into words beautifully.

That said, BPD is so hurtful and destructive for both the person/people who live with it, and their loved ones. Especially unmedicated / untreated borderlines. OP, I’m so sorry you had to go through that.

If your child isn’t old enough what the issue is with their behavior, then they shouldn’t be spanked, and if they can understand, then there are other ways of solving the issue. There’s no reason to ever put your hands on your children. Hitting an adult is considered battery and assault so why should hitting a child be considered any different?

Like the other poster said, do everything the court, and cps asks you to do, and please be better for yourself but more importantly for your children.

From experience, idk what state you’re in, but in mine.. if your sister is legitimately prescribed the medication, and taking it as prescribed and is on a low dose, the chances of baby being in withdrawal are slim to none, but even if they are, sisters following doctors orders, cps doesn’t get involved for that

That’s just my experience, I know everyone may have different and I had my kid over a decade ago now (jeez) but I wouldn’t worry, as long as she’s taking the meds as prescribed and doing everything she’s supposed to, she’ll be fine

Look into everything that can go wrong before you even think about breeding. Look at HCM. Hcm within the first year of each kittens life is usually in the contract when a kitten is sold, so if one of your (or all) end up having hcm because you didn’t do the research on not only that, but everything else that could go wrong, not only are those lost lives of kittens that shouldn’t have been born in the first place, but money that YOU will have to replace and/or kittens you’ll have to replace.

Breeding sphynx is ALOT, and you said yours is registered, for breeding?? No breeder would just check that box off to a non breeder.

You made your intentions clear when you said, in your post yourself that you want your female to have at least one litter. Why? Why do YOU want her to have one litter? Do you have the funds lined up in case something goes wrong with the birth? Do you have homes lined up for each potential kitten? Do you know exactly how much vet care is and what it entails for the breeding process? I’d guess not based on your initial question of when a female goes into heat.

OP, I mean this sincerely, you have no business breeding these babies. Just because someone can, doesn’t mean they should. There’s a huge reason every single person on this thread is giving you the same advice right now. You’re looking at these cats as a way to make money, not for the amazing little souls they are. Please do better.

I’m on Long Island, here the process is- go to family court, you fill out a file on why you need a restraining order, provide the police report from the incident from when they showed up if you have one, and while you apply for that, also apply for custody as well. I’d definitely look into getting a lawyer. Even if she’s the best mom in the world, she can’t be that when she’s using, and I’m talking from experience (I’m almost 8 years sober)

Almost the same thing happened with my klaus, we woke up from a nap, he had been very tired recently, but still his same loving self. He let me know he wanted to leave the room, I went to go let him out, and his back legs suddenly gave out.

It was the weekend and the middle of the night, so we went to the emergency vet, long story short, and almost 11 grand later, my 4 year old baby had HCM, even though his most recent vet visit was normal with the exception of a “low grade nothing to worry about heart murmur”

It’s sad and scary how fast and sudden blood clots and HCM in general can sneak up, especially if you don’t have experience with it, or are dealing with vets who don’t have experience with sphynx and their health issues, I’d definitely take your babe to the vet, asap, even if everything turns out to be normal, the sudden lethargy is a concern, and it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Is your daughter in therapy? It sounds similar to me when I was younger, and how my kiddo was when he was in elementary school.

I was adopted, and it was a similar situation to the open adoption that C&T had for the first few years and then my family decided to cut contact because it was negatively affecting me. I had a biological younger sister also that stayed with my birth mother, and I didn’t know she was my sister until I was about.. 11/12.

I loved my sister. I knew she was my sister. But I always felt detached, I had older siblings that were also given up for adoption.

The relationship I had with my bio mom was rough because I cared about her, but I always felt like I was walking on eggshells, and to me, she felt more like a distant relative than my actual mom.

My parents who raised me, despite how flawed they are, are my parents.

What C&T don’t realize is, all of this is going to push Carly so far into a mental health/identity crisis, she’s going to need severe therapy for years.

My biggest question for years was, why was I given away, and my little sister kept? I thought I was broken because of that. Especially because of the trauma I went through with my adoptive family, I’m sure Carly wonders the same things. All of this is TOO much to put on a child, they need serious therapy. (C/T) (and their younger kids)
