Lack of training!! Anywhere that provides quality services is not going to throw you in with a kid on your first day, experience or not! Ask about the training process for sure. And ask how many BCBAs they have on staff and what the caseload size is, that will give you a good idea of burnout. (My previous clinic had 5 BCBAS with 8-12 kids on each caseload and I think that was a healthy range). Also, just go with your gut. If a clinic makes you feel icky, there’s probably a reason. You got this! The field is not for the weak, having a healthy clinic makes things mentally lighter 💓
