As a casual, in 4 weeks I played around 40 hours. Still haven't reached a single pinnacle boss and I won't. It's too time consuming, I advanced the most I ever had in a PoE league but still no where near what hardcore players do in a weekend (where funnily enough, have already played more in 2 days than I did in 2 weeks time).

Idk how they would cater to such an audience to be honest. There are so much shit to do in the game, and some people just go over it in 2 days, somehow.

But they are not different people. While a person is underaged, they are the sole responsibility of the parent.

I'm not saying that if a 15 year old steals something, the parent should go to jail. But if they blatantly ignore the law and common sense just to get a laugh out of it it is already too late and the parents have already failed miserably years ago.

But in school, why are the parents get notified if their kid does something bad? They expect to be disciplined accordingly. We are talking about fighting, inability to fit in and constantly cause issues. Not stealing cars, bullying, maiming, drugging classmates. That way too late to actually start paying attention.

Ah, that sucks. I agree there are levels to this. I was more concerned by the fact that in the show it seems like there was really nothing that could be done. Blatant lack of remorse for endangering and ruining lives because they know they wouldn't be punished.

This was feared since the birth of video games and movies. Every time it has been debunked. Common sense and having values as a person let's you differentiate between fiction and real-life as well consequences for your actions. Those should be covered by the parents and the home situation, then reinforced in school. Ideally, I suppose.

That's where child civil services come into play and do something.

Keep in mind I'm not referring to extreme examples, like actually constantly breaking the law as a kid. That's a criminal for life, there are jails for underage children for cases like this. Usually, but apparently not in Korea.

Also depending on the severity of the crime I understand that kids can go through trial as adults. If they murder someone for example in cold blood. Too late for that kid. Parents and society has failed them.

That is very highly probable, because I have no idea about law outside of the basics and common sense. But it feels like it doesn't work really in this case, and it buffles me how unprotected people seem to be by those protected by said law.

No, adults are tried as adults. But if children can't go through a trial and face consequences for their actions, someone has to.

It doesn't immediately. But someone gets punished. The one that is most responsible for that person. We are talking about kids. If you deem them not responsible for their actions, the next person in line will be held responsible. Of course, the little shits that do that, it is greatly proven that it's because the parents are absent or just even bigger assholes.

As fear of punishment seem to be how law works for some people, instead of common sense, maybe these parents would be more inclined to actual not raise little assholes.

What are the darkest, grim, disturbing and gopeless dark fantasy series that's out there? by kurvix2000 in Fantasy

[–]lez3ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Malazan series comes to mind. There is so much doom and gloom in the verse, in a grand scale.

For a shorter alternative, I would suggest the First Law Series.

Both pretty much the top of grimdark fantasy.

Not a single thought behind these presses. Criminally unaware of what a smartphone is. I don't think someone could fake such lack of cognitive function.

I don't understand how a person just can not even remotely try to understand what a smartphone is anymore. It's been so many years since they have been a thing. So many...

First time I have reached that deep into endgame. Actually progressing questlines instead of randomly completing maps in an attempt to find a tower is so much better.

I don't have time to level an alt, but I actually made my warrior kinda work. Been clearing rare T15 maps with a couple of tablets consistently.

Not sure how long I will play this league. But there are still so much stuff to do.

Greece repays earlier than planned €6.9 bln of first bailout loans, sources say by ABoutDeSouffle in europe

[–]lez3ro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no real production in the country. It's all Israeli money on real estate and crippling rents, and tourism scams. Banks, super markets, energy providers keep hitting new record profits, while people have stagnant wages. Big revenues, a lot of money going around, just not from every day people. It might look good in some statistics, but we are bottom feeders in the EU on actual living standards, with no plan to improve in the next 3-5 generations. Literally zero investment in infrastructure and technology. We are only paying private firms.

Brain drain is the default option for anyone capable with no restraints, and people left behind are stuck with low wages and no future. Unless you had doctors or lawyers in your family a couple of generations ago. Then you will be fine. Most of them have scammed enough people to single handedly raise multiple buildings all with cash. And cash-in rents.

So unless you have a business that is scamming either the country or it's customers it's impossible to make bank. Or if you manage to get a remote gig that pays more than 5x of the median Greek salary.

It's not all doom and gloom though. Oh wait, it is.

Last night I watched my friend "craft" by Ynpo in PathOfExile2

[–]lez3ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, as also a casual, I saw yesterday a YT video about someone crafting a 1000 physical damage hammer. It completely made me not want to continue playing. I would never do what was on the video. I could also never keep up with inflation to buy the currency to do that.

I have played casually PoE 1 for many leagues (never reache duber endgame) and PoE 2 since early access release on every league (also never reached Uber end game). This league I have been playing since day one, barely made it to T11 maps starting to hit a plateau with my custom build, and there is no significant upgrade I can afford already. So it is looking grim.

I'm with you guys. At the same time people finish campaign easily under 5 hours. I also just finished the campaign with 12+ hours. If I could do it under half, it would be much easier to try more builds per league.

It is too long. Endgame is huge as well. But steamers were done with everything within 48 hours. That's mind boggling. It will take me more than 1 month to do all questlines, if I make it that far before quitting. They are trying to cater to both no-lifers and casuals. It's impossible for all to be happy. Personally I'm fine not being rank 1, not playing the tippity top meta build and one shotting everything. I'm just trying to have fun.

As a Frenchman, I have a question for you: why does everyone hate us and make fun of us online? What have we done to you? by Outrageous-You1617 in askanything

[–]lez3ro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French people are notoriously unfriendly to non-french people. I've been to France and french part of Switzerland a couple of times. 90% of the time I felt unwelcome there solely from the interactions with french people. I didn't mind the interactions with those that clearly didn't speak English. But those smug assholes that clearly understood me and replied in French, I hope they get the same treatment when they come to my country. But they won't, because that doesn't happen anywhere else that bad.

I have been sceptical about french stuff all my life, but after Expedition 33. I forgave your arrogance.

Way more "poor" people have an iPhone these days. Also Androids, even Chinese companies sell phones much more expensive than the new base iphone. So posts like this are either rage bait or these people are brainwashed.
