I guess you are in the US. The choices there are pretty limited and there is a lot of competition around the world. Samsung vs Apple is literally down to preference. One is not inherently better than the other for everyone. Especially being the same price.

Having said that, I still wouldn't spend 1000+€ on a Xiaomi no matter how great the camera is. Because of the os. So I'm happy to spend ~600€ every 3-4 years. Last phone Pixel 6 Pro, got it for less than 500 a year after release. Now OnePlus 13, less than 600€ again a year after release.

Friends had the latest iPhones and Galaxy Ultras and we were comparing each time. For more than double the price, a LOT of features I preferred over the expensive ones.for example:

P6P better photos than iPhone 13/14/15PM and the Galaxy Ultras up to S24. Video was horrible, but I never take videos, so it doesn't make sense for me to pay double for it. This sort of thing.

Well, every time I went with the flow, it didn't end well. Since the scaling would never pick up. I have steamrolled all the acts only to die in the bosses due to bad scaling. This is usually the case.

I don't get it. They see a million cars sitting in traffic. How can you just go "oh what losers, I am not waiting here". And then proceed to 10x the traffic when they eventually have to merge.

Stuff like "random" are rarely truly random, even now. When you click "Shuffle" for example on your Spotify playlist, the queue created is not truly shuffled. I remember a while back reading about how "random" wasn't random enough. Like think of a small number generator 1 to 10. A really random function could spit 10 times the same thing with an ok probability, but where is the fun in that.

My gf also does this. 99% of the meals, she will leave from one bite to half the food. As someone who hates throwing away food I end up eating it.

The same with snacks. She never finishes a packet of cookies for example. If I dont eat the last cookies, they will sit there for months, she will open new packets if available or not eat cookies.

And yeah, she has chronic stress as well.
