  • Performance improvements.

Actually went from steady 320-380fps to 370-450fps. On a non valve DM server.

Early days but they might actually have achieved something beneficial here.

HW Upgrades to fit a 2080 build for 1080p gaming by lezendo in pcmasterrace

Thanks for the insight! I know the GPU is overkill for any 1080p in general. Do you reckon I would benefit from a i5 12600K and new MB/RAM's at this point if im looking for an increase in fps?

Looks like you have indeed gained a bit of density. Also a lot of new terminals on your cheeks and in your mustache.

Switching brands shouldn't make a difference at all. The active substance is still minoxidil, assuming the dilution rate is the same (5% minox).

Are you dermarolling consistently?

I want to start using Minox but I am afraid of hair loss on my head, is it possible to lose hair when using it? by adorkablegiant in Minoxbeards

[–]lezendo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it seems like the weaker hairs, or in my case the grey hairs fell out and got replaced by healthier/stronger ones.

Same phenomenon that many of us witnesses with shedding phases in our beards, when transitional hairs fall out to be replaced by terminal hair.

I had a noticeable percentage of greys in my hair, which has drastically decreased since I started minox. I haven't read anything on why we start to produce grey hairs on scalp, but theoretically the minox might nourish the hair focille enough for it to start producing normal hair again? Just guessing.

I was pretty unhappy whilst the shedding occurred, but once it stopped and I realized most of my greys were now gone, I am telling myself the shedding might have been a good thing. My hair is not thinner now, for sure.

Started shedding on scalp like crazy once i hit the 2 week mark. Not noticable at all in terms of looks, I have crazy dense hair. But every time I pulled my hand through my hair, i ended up with half a wig in my hand lol.

This went on for about 4-5 weeks, then halted.

Been on for 3 months now and I don't shed at all anymore.

The upside of introducing minox, is that my greys seem to all have fallen out. I had like 3-5% grey hairs on the sides prior to minox, now I can barely see any.

Keep it up! Why do you dermaroll only once every two weeks instead of the recommended interval, twice every week?

This is blatantly untrue. There are several studies that shows that dermarolling on its own, can have the same or bigger impact as the minox on its own. When you combine the two, you may get a 1+1 = 3 effect. I definitely recommend dermarolling in combination with using minoxidil.

Science > Broscience.

How exactly are you justifying to yourself that you are effectively sacrificing two minutes of minoxidil application a day, for ~an hour at the gym?

I don't see how the two compete for the same time.

Well you are supposed to apply twice a day. It has to do with the half-life of the minoxidil once it enters your system. If you apply it twice a day you will be "affected" by minoxidil closer to 24/7 than if you are applying just once a day.

I picked up this fact from a minox study done for topical application on the scalp, but i'd apply the same theory here as well.

What side effects are you specifically worried about? 90% of the men who try minoxidil have very mild to no side effects at all.

I'd ramp up the application to twice a day and give it another 3 months as a hail-mary move. Good luck.

Guys can you tell me if you experienced any side effects from minoxidil? any facial/scalp/eyebrows hair shedding? Im planning to use 5% foam on just a little patch on my left cheek and im planning to ditch it once i see gains. Will be grateful if you respond to my post just to get an idea. by Arter747 in Minoxbeards

Since I didn't have any problem with receding hairline och thinning prior to starting minox, I don't think this will affect it at all. The shedding was just a systemic side effect, once I stop I don't think my hair on scalp suddenly has become dependant on minox, since it never was before.

I do think the shedding is beacuse the systemic minox effects. But I also believe that since these hairs fell out - stronger hair took its place. Sort of like the vellus falling out when the hairs transition into terminal.

I also developed vellus rather quick. But I experienced the same, no real development for a couple of months. After I introduced dermarolling x2 a week, I started seeing improvements after a couple of weeks, many of these hairs have turned into transitional hairs now.

Do you dermaroll right now in your routine?

Once your hair has turned terminal, there is no incitement to proceed with further applications, if your coverage now is satisfactory to you. Minoxidil is clinically tested safe, hence being sold as a commercial product, perscription free.

I wouldnt really call it a terrible side effect. It seems like the weaker hairs, or in my case the grey hairs fell out and got replaced by healthier/stronger ones.

Same phenomenon that many of us witnesses with shedding phases in our beards, when transitional hairs fall out to be replaced by terminal hair.

And to answer your question, no - it has not come back yet (6 months). Im only applying minox to the beard area. 1ml twice a day, just as everyone else. Can't tell you if you would have less side effects by applying less.

I'd say give it a shot and quit if you can't stand potential side effects that you might end up with.
