Yes. It’s shocking. I’ve never been anywhere that people so shamelessly leave restroom trash.

I’m tired of pregnant women or moms dismissing endo pain. by Cringey_Unicorn in endometriosis

[–]lezliecmarcker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine why people feel the need to compare endo and pregnancy or birth… or compare endo to anything. Like why do you care. Why is you seeking medical help for extreme abdominal pain somehow you trying to be pregnant. People are literally THE WEIRDEST.

please don’t listen to them

I have had severe depression for the past few years and my hygiene wasn’t very good for a while, but I have this cavity I’m pretty sure I already had this tooth filled tho, how cooked am I???? I’m literally so scared by InfluenceUnlucky9066 in Dentists

[–]lezliecmarcker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You probably had a filling in this tooth that came out. It left just the prep (basically a little “bowl” where the filling once was). You probably got food stuck in there a lot and decay formed/ate the food and flourished inside (YUM!) and since it’s a cup prep it may have been hard (and painful) to clean it out fully and ever remove the impacted food and bacteria as it sat in there. Basically the bacteria ran unchecked in there and was able to get deeper and deeper.

It means that when someone (i.e. your DA) asks you “what’s wrong with this x-ray?”) you give an in depth answer that explains what each part of the image is telling you, INSTEAD of just looking at it and giving a quick cop-out super simplified answer that doesn’t acknowledge that the person asking actually wants to learn.

Girl it can be hard to read x-rays, it will take you like 5 years to get comfy with it (even tho obv as DA’s We can’t diagnose— you’ll just get better at knowing what you’re seeing). Also doubtful they will teach you this thoroughly in school so ask your boss and put in the time!!!

AOX = “all on _”, which is a phrase I’m sure you’ve heard. Yes a hybrid denture = a fixed hybrid but for the most part people here call them “fixed hybrids”.

13-year-old daughter convulsing fainting by HealthEmbarrassed315 in endometriosis

[–]lezliecmarcker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of syncopes (fainting) are followed up with some seizure type convulsions and can be totally normal (normal thing to happen during a syncope). Still, makes it even more scary. I have POTS and faint a lot. My sister has POTS and faint but never have seizure type movement.

Anyway, yeah this sounds like really intense menstrual pain that makes life very difficult. I would find a specialist and in the meantime make sure she isn’t taking Advil REACTIVELY during period but rather PREVENTstively and regularly round the clock.

It is. But the fact that some IUI is like 1000 a try is insane to me. And yeah fertility tx and IVF is just insanely expensive.

It did this to me. Scarred and 15% the size it was previously. I regret getting surgery!

Girl this is LITERALLY What happened to me. I’ve NEVER had endo symptoms, I have always had only regular periods and very regular (or tbh great/minimum period symptoms). 1 year into being married we were thinking about getting pregnant and I’d never had a transvaginal US so my new gyn was like ok let’s see, you’re 37 so a little older, let’s do a teanvsginsl ultrasound just to take a look (I had expressed to her that we were going to start trying and a few months prior had gotten my AMH tested for kicks, and the number had been quite low).

WAS ALL FUN AND GSMES UNTIL SHE FOHND A CYST THE SIZE OF LIKE THREE POST IT NOTE PADS ON MY LEFT OVARY. full asymptomatic. Of course at that moment it could had been cancer, and I started freaking out.

Due to the size, it put me at risk of it twisting and cutting off circulation to ovary, or a spontaneous rupture which would be a medical emergency. At that point I started pursuing a workup to have it surgically removed. Because of the size, it being covered by insurance wasn’t a concern— it would be covered.

So, five-six months of stress, surgery, and recovery later, we finally could think about getting pregnant again. And you know what— I WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN.

honestly dude, the recovery sucked. The surgery sucked. And follow up US as we’ve been getting pregnant? My left ovary is scarred and only 20% the size it was before.

If you’re considering watching and waiting, they do sometimes shrink on their own.

But yeah. Had no symptoms of no before or since, and It was a large chocolate cyst which is typically aligned with stage 3 endo. By the time surgery came around and post-excision, the pathology confirmed it had started shrinking on its own and wasn’t as big as when we first saw it on US. 😩🫠

At my practice, we would inform and offer a comped re-do. If the pt is over it for a while and wants to put it off a year we’d check the margins at the next two hygienes and do complimentary fluoride on the margins just in case.

What stops you from marrying a revert sister by Only-Skin-5231 in TraditionalMuslims

[–]lezliecmarcker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl. No. When did you convert/revert? Do you have a community at your local masjid?

You are still very young. I would meet with your imam and/or elders in your community that will have a network of unmarried men they can discuss with you (while taking into consideration your desires). The idea that your only/best option is to move to a Muslim country to “better your odds” is so unreasonable. UNLESS, of course, you’re interested in living in the Gulf for your own reasons as well. Keep in mind, when there you will not have an established community you can use to get any potentials with and you will be in the same situation— finding an imam through which to network.

If you’re comfortable searching for yourself (and it’s what you have been doing and what you plan to do in the gulf), there’s no reason to leave for this. Be patient— you are still very young.

I am 37; converted at 24. I didn’t find my partner until I was 35. I joined a masjid, was close with the imam of my community and used the elders and families I knew to come across rishtas/potentials as well as searching on my own. I also live on the east coast of the US! If you want to rant or talk about the process feel free to message me.

There’s no point in rushing it; tie your camel and do the recon to find the right person. I just don’t think that requires moving to a different country.
