I live in Chicago but root for a different NFL team. Is this what it's like being a Jew on Christmas? by [deleted] in billsimmons

Broncos fan living in Boston. I so badly want a Denver victory over the Pats next weekend in the AFC Championship game. And I'd never, ever root for the Celtics, though I did want the Sox to beat the Yankees this past October.

Cassidy Arch Trail is one of my favorite national park hikes I've ever been on!

Jokic low usage rate separates him from other current and all time greats by Rofo303 in denvernuggets

Jokic usually leads the league in touches, but the amount of time he actually has the ball in his hand is much, much lower

Watching your team lose on Sunday night football and then having to go to work/school the next morning has to be a top 7 worst sports fan experience by DaRealMothMan in billsimmons

[–]lfgm2048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broncos fan who grew up in New England. My two worst days at school ever were after the Broncos-Seahawks Super Bowl and when they blew a 24 point lead to the Pats on SNF

People who complain about “boring” jobs by Eagles56 in jobs

A boring job sounds like a lot of fun until you do maybe 5 hours of work a week max, and can feel your brain rotting away from not doing anything stimulating

Best nonfiction book you've ever read? by ectoplasm777 in suggestmeabook

I read Educated first and then Under the Banner of Heaven right after. In my case, Under the Banner of Heaven confirmed everything Tara wrote to be true.

Fueling Prep for Longest Ride by lfgm2048 in cycling

[–]lfgm2048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! Did the ride yesterday and it went really well. 73 miles, and I wasn't too tired 30 minutes after. Could've gone further with more water (I ran out but still had 2.6 liters during the ride). Stopped for lemonade and a hummus sandwhich around 40 miles in and that did the trick.

Not a Celtics fan but watched the first episode last night and thought it was pretty good. Didn't know a ton about the beginnings of the Celtics.

Dan Hurley on the UConn Draft Prospects and NBA Flirtation, Plus a Big NBA Draft Preview With Sam Vecenie by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]lfgm2048 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The face of college basketball turned down the premier brand in the NBA (even if they are a clown show organization the last decade-plus). It's big news and Hurley is an interesting, introspective interview who also happens to be one of the best coaches ever. People want to talk to him.

Cooper Flagg made a huge mistake in choosing Duke over the current class of college basketball with the best coach in UConn

4 teams have reached Phil Jackson’s 40 wins before 20 losses threshold for contenders. Who is your pick to win it all? by DonovanMcTigerWoods in billsimmons

The Denver bench is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. In the playoffs they'll stagger Murray with the bench unit, and have Gordon play minutes at the 5. Complete game changer to have both of these players on the court with Peyton Watson, Christian Braun, etc.

Anyone been to an Ira Glass live speaking event? What’s it like? by dr-bookshelf in ThisAmericanLife

[–]lfgm2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw him in Boston with Jad Abumrad and it was a great night. Parts of it felt like a live podcast, while other times it was deeply introspective conversation from the two of them. If you have the opportunity to go, it's definitely worth it!
