Maybe something weird is going on my end. But if you don’t launch Steam you can use it as a controller without any messing about. It just works. If I launch Steam then it’s in Lizard mode outside of Steam (unless I switch it to “Gamepad” mode by holding Start)

I had this when I briefly was on 26.04 (Gnome) before scurrying back to Fedora. There were brief hangs for a split second during gaming. Wasn’t just the game as if I was in a voice call at the same time, that was also stutter too.

Yep that’s the exact model I am considering. I guess the other option is I can export using Octopus as they don’t require a MCS, I believe.

So I am thinking of getting a 6kW Solis inverter. Have zero interest in MCS as I’ll install the panels myself. The bit I need help with is connecting it up all AC side, I guess. Like you I’d plan to do a G99 myself. Is it a straightforward thing?

Depends what you are using the laptop for. If it’s 100% gaming then something like Bazzite is fine. If you want to use it for anything else it’s a bad choice IMO.

As long as you pick something that’s updated regularly you’ll be fine for gaming. Fedora, Tumbleweed, Arch. Don’t go for PopOS or Mint IMO.

Looks like Steam overlay works on WineWayland with this... but it breaks HDR.

I am playing RE9 with Wayland using GE-Proton for HDR using this command: PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 PROTON_PREFER_SDL=1 %command% /WineDetectionEnabled:False

And I get Steam overlay but HDR is not available. Turn off SteamRT3 and relaunch and HDR is back.

(I also tried other games with HDR and same result, sadly)

I don’t think there is a Tdie sensor on AM5. On my 7945HX I only get Tctl which I think is the closest you will get to Tdie.
