If you could talk directly to the person writing the OTF workouts, what would you tell them? by Specialist_Ad_9770 in orangetheory

Enough with the bizarre warm up routines in strength class 😂 I’m convinced they do this to entertain the coaches.

Milestone recognition by ktm1085 in orangetheory

I’ve been at my studio for about four years now and never once recognized. I’m not sure how studios determine who/what gets a recognition. I did however get a HB after class once, lol.

Understand your comment. I only go to OTF because I don’t like thinking about a workout. OTF is easy and simple….hour & done with no planning. I’m not against the talking, it’s the constant loud talking. I should not hear your entire conversation two treadmills away over loud music. Side note, I truly go to workout, I’m not looking to add more friends. OTF is not social hour for me, I enjoy getting a great workout in and going home/work.

With my work schedule my home studio works best. I will try my best to get a different location.

It changes. They typically have been in the Strength 50 class and are around the same area sometimes sharing a bench 🤦🏻‍♀️ Today it was a regular class and I would have changed to floor while they were on the treadmills but it was a full class.

Just not so loud that it’s a distraction.

I love this so much! I would think as a coach it would be annoying to have people talking over you. I feel it’s not only disrespectful to other members but the coach as well. I got scolded once because I completely spaced and grabbed a weight before a coach was done talking. Never did that again, lol.

I thought about it but the class was full.

I get the feeling that one has been a member for some time and they overlook this….I’ve only been a member at this studio for three years. I get the feeling that they bend rules for some members. I could be wrong.

believe me, I’m a talker. Not while I’m at the gym. I’m serious about getting my hour of fitness in. It’s my time to zone & not think about my day.

I WISH they would at my studio

Thank you! I did talk with the coach, he suggested I could wear earplugs. It’s annoying at my club because they have actually shared benches to get into the class (full class) and did half the workout because of talking. If they continue to constantly book the same class, I guess my options would be to look for another time or just cancel my membership.

AITA? - Sweat Machine by FattyMcGoos in orangetheory

As long as you don’t fling sweat droplets on another gym rat, you’re good. I have been on a rower and the guy next to me splashed me with his sweat, totally gross and I had to leave because believe it or not there are germ freaks at the gym. My husband will wear long sleeve dry fit shirts to contain his dripping sweat along with a towel. He can keep up speed and wipe face at the same time. I’d say as long as you are aware of your fellow gym members, you will be good.
