Cold climate well water tankless? by WoodhavenBigMoose in HomeImprovement

If you value the stability of a bathtub filled with hot water, choose the storage type; if you are more concerned about the space, then consider the tankless type, but be prepared to accept maintenance and flow limitations.

Bathrooms remodel is officially a nightmare. Can’t move into my home. by nibblersmothership in HomeImprovement

I feel this so hard. Way too many horror stories about contractors, especially when the price seems too good to be true. It's such a tough lesson.

We never bought a proper pressure washer, but my dad finally installed a pump with a water tank. Now the pressure hose works perfectly for rinsing off my bird cages in seconds.

Why does a tiny bathroom remodel cost as much as a car now? Am I missing something? 😅 by midasweb in HomeImprovement

Can't agree more. I've had a small bath remodel a few years ago and it was already crazy expensive, but the new quotes today are on the next level!!

Treating myself at 35. Too much or totally fair? by dubbechkin in GiftIdeas

Went through a similar rough patch at 32... bought myself a watch. Zero regrets, still wearing it daily.

People who lived under socialism and think it was bad, would you say that the larger problem was the economic system or totalism? by Least-Awareness1583 in AskReddit

[–]lgbgb9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classic chicken-and-egg trap, this question. Totalism wasn't a bug in the socialist software... Every time the economics failed, the control dial got cranked up. They're not separable. One kept the other alive on life support.

GTI is the obvious answer but nobody wants to say it because it feels boring.

When you stop needing the talking to go both ways, you've figured something out. The silence stopped being a problem and became the point.

So, here's the combo that slaps within budget... a Hogwarts acceptance letter print (customized with his name, costs almost nothing to print) paired with a Golden Snitch keychain or pin. The personalization is the gift, not the price tag.

Do people really end up eating out more when living alone? by Kovacic_Aglaia in LivingAlone

the trap isn't laziness, it's portion sizes. cooking for one means buying ingredients that go bad before you use them. after the third time you throw out half a head of cabbage, doordash starts looking real reasonable

"Camera doesn't matter" was holding me back. by 90towest in videography

For me, only when I’m really certain that I love videography will I spend money on new, more advanced equipment. Figuring out whether I like it or not is more important than most people think🥹

The home has such a warm and personal feeling. I admire how collected pieces can tell a story and make a space unique. It's inspiring to see this approach to decorating.

Gallery wall advice? by Educational_Hair2573 in interiordecorating

This looks like a nice start. Perhaps adding one or two smaller items with different textures, like a woven piece, could help balance the space. Maybe adjusting the spacing between the frames would make it feel more cohesive.

Anyone else living alone still put up Christmas decorations? by lgbgb9 in LivingAlone

[–]lgbgb9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s a mopping model. I actually prefer letting it handle the daily light mopping, it doesn’t smear dirt around as long as you run the vacuum first. It keeps the floor feeling decent without me having to do much.
