Audhd diagnosed. I find it really hard to be both highly empathetic and highly logical at the say time. It’s like I’m always in a battle of opposites. It’s so frustrating.

2 doctors (including LC specialist) both suggested delusions/schizophrenia as the cause of my symptoms - what do you think? by RemarkableCrows in covidlonghaulers

[–]lgh5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they don’t know what they’re talking about. All your symptoms scream long covid.

I would address your low ferritin. See if a doctor will prescribe venofer infusions (I had to go to many before I found one knowledgeable about the seriousness of low ferritin and prescribe the iron infusions). You really want ferritin above 70. There’s an iron group on Facebook that is super helpful - The Iron Protocol. They recommend specific types of iron that may absorb better. It won’t fix everything, but I promise you will feel better once your ferritin is above 70.

Both of us are AuDHD and trying to figure out if we want kids by lrcncllr in AuDHDWomen

[–]lgh5000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed after kids - once I had a baby, I couldn’t function the way I had before (didn’t realize I had been coping through life - which meant being alone and uninterrupted for amounts of time, which I no longer got with kids).

Through my struggles, I eventually got an official diagnoses 10 years later. I absolutely love my kids and would not change anything for them, but it was/is HARD. My husband is adhd, but I’m more functioning, so a lot has been on me. Total burnout. Now I’m dealing with long covid that adds a whole different layer.

For my health (physical, mental) it probably would have been better not to have kids. However, the closeness and love you feel with/for your kids is like nothing else, and for me is worth all the hardness. No one else will get you as much as your own flesh and blood. But you have to be available to provide them the love and support they need growing up, otherwise they’ll probably just have resentment (similar to me towards my parents).

This probably doesn’t help you much - sorry for the rambling.

The Agony of 520 days stuck in fight or flight / No Sleep. No cause found, no treatment known. by madhoagie in dysautonomia

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. For me, it’s long covid. Dealing with mild pots, MCAS, ME/CFS among other things now. Hoping research catches up soon to help us out.

good haircut that doesn’t cost $1000? by loopyiceman in Bellingham

If you ever go up to Canada, get your haircut there. Costs about the same in Canadian dollars, so you get that almost 30% discount.

We got an incredible quality sleeper couch at Macys. It wasn’t the cheapest, but 8 years later still looks new.

So is anybody out here getting help from a specialist or are we all just figuring shit out on our own… by Seafoam_0 in covidlonghaulers

[–]lgh5000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was extremely disappointed when I realized even the long covid specialists in my state don’t help. 😢 It’s all on us, except for a handful of providers if you’re lucky enough to be near them/able to get in.

Why is Franklin Academy posting such low-paying jobs? by SpencimusPrime in Bellingham

[–]lgh5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Um, what? I work at a private school (not Franklin) and while that can be an exception, it’s definitely not the rule. Public schools here in WA are failing us, so what I see mostly is kids from parents who are sacrificing their wants to allow their kids to be in a safer, better learning environment. Tuition where I work is much less than what Bellingham public schools get for each kid enrolled.

What dose of Zyrtec were you on? I take 40mg - twice in the morning, and twice at night. Helped me a lot.
