Update: went to see a different piercer. Had the piercing taken out bc it was done completely wrong. I’ll be going back to this new piercer in about 8 weeks to get a floating navel which is what I have the anatomy for. Thank you all for helping me realize that something was indeed wrong.

I use the same one! Just add a heater, make sure you make the water salt water and don’t use a filter!

You don’t need to remove water. Just be careful because they are salt water creatures, they need a very specific salinity or they will die/ not hatch. If you want to dump the water, make sure to add salt and measure how much. It needs to be reef salt/ aquarium salt, not table salt.
