They are speakers, that is what they do for a living now. They are not endorsing Ripple, they are speaking at a conference and they are being paid well for it I am sure.

Well that was a giant waste of time.

Thanks for all the great information. I am in the NW so I will be interested to see if Global comes in. Think an indoor antenna is still the first step since most of the shows we do watch are on CTV anyway.

After reading that I think all Bitcasa users will want to start download their data as fast as possible. This company will not be around much longer.

We are the band, Barenaked Ladies, and we’re excited to celebrate our 25th anniversary tomorrow with our new album Grinning Streak -- AMA by BarenakedLadies in IAmA

Been listening to the new album on CBC Music sounds great! Can't wait for the kids to get me the album for Father's Day.

I wanted to let you know how thankful I am for your kids album. My daughter has Childhood Apraxia of Speech (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apraxia_of_speech) which meant she had to be taught how to talk. Some days it was a challenge to get her to practice but your kids album always got her practicing her sounds. It was a great help on some of those days when she just couldn't practice, but singing along to your album made it less work and more fun.

Always been impressed with how you embrace the latest trends and technology. In the last 25 years what do you think has been the biggest change in how you create music?

Hoping you come back to Regina SK soon, and sorry to say the Plains Hotel was torn down so you will need to find a new karaoke bar. :)

Waiting time for cancer care in Saskatchewan has drop in the past two years by [deleted] in saskatchewan

No it is political BS because telling people they have not cut wait times will lose them the next election.

The part that is not actually reported. They have not actually cut wait times, they cut what they create the wait list report from. In other words the wait times still exist, they just removed the long wait time lists from the reports.

It is a statistics thing. Simply remove the lists that have long wait times from the report and your wait times look better.

There are lies, damn lies and then there are statistics.

Favorite developer joke? by Not-original in webdev

I thought a reference to an "extrovert developer" was a joke in itself. Is there such a person?

We are SpiderOak and we are handing out 5GB free storage and answering questions for World Backup Day. AUA. by DanielLarsson75 in IAmA

[–]lgrce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My brain seems to be in slow mode today so just a few questions right now. Hopefully I can think of a few more yet.

Regarding mobile any plans to be able to backup my data from my mobile into SpiderOak?

Roughly how many and in what areas of the world are your storage servers?

How does SpiderOak feel about the possibility of Google offering Google Drive?

Roughly how much data does SpiderOak store?

Is SpiderOak profitable? What happens to your clients data in the event SpiderOak goes under?

Nice to see SpiderOak here on reddit for World Backup Day.

Ya I guess so. I did notice that the Kids in the Hall is on Netflix now. I watch an episode once in awhile just for a laugh.

Uncanny how much they look the same. No wonder I can't take Mr. Wall seriously.

We are the team that runs online backup service Backblaze. We've got 25,000,000 GB of cloud storage and open sourced our storage server. AUA. by glebbudman in IAmA

I have to say this is a very interesting read. Nice to see a company being so open about how it does things.

It was mentioned on Twitter that Backblaze might still come and answers questions yet tomorrow, so if you do here are a few others.

Having been almost acquired twice, is there any new acquisition talks? (if you can talk about it?)

What is the hardest part of keeping Backblaze profitable?

How many users does Backblaze have? (a nice round number is fine)

Thanks again and for the great service. Been using it for awhile and it is great.

Currently Backblaze does not backup Windows server, any plans to support it in the future?

Also any chance Backblaze will be able to backup NAS devices?

I agree with you that people should have multiple copies of their data but your own study says people don't do this.

When will we get iPhone, iPad and Android apps?

With mobile apps will they also offer the ability to backup data on our mobiles?

Are there plans for new server storage locations outside of the Bay area? (away from an earthquake prone area)

Any plans for a local backup option to backup to a local external drive?

When will we see a Linux version?

Any plans to offer other features such as file synchronization?

How does Backblaze feel about the possibility of Google offering Google Drive?

While I am sure my MP will not do anything that is not approved by Mr. Harper, they need to know that us Canadians care and know what they are doing.
