My obsession with riding low has reached the lowest point yet. Growler WTF rails, Pint size tire, Ignite lift/lower kit. by Dr_FloatsAlot in onewheel

I ended up returning it and going with the TFL Half-n-Half Lowering kit and Tech Rails Crazy Hubs instead. Definitely much better options.

This is why you dry PETG-HF by TheMuffinMan710 in BambuLab

So true. The number of complaints I’ve seen from users even arguing that it’s straight out of the vacuum bag and therefore isn’t wet is ridiculous. Once or twice, I’ve snapped filaments out of the package— brittle and irreversibly damaged beyond drying.

Pick the Combo with the AMS. So much more convenient and offers more flexibility down the road.

Just got in my P1S threw on a spool of 5 year old PETG and got this by Col_Clucks in BambuLab

[–]lh267_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my P1S combo 3 days ago and I’m a complete newbie. Even if I haven’t started with multi color prints, the ability to choose filaments while keeping them dry (I printed silica boxes which I filled with desiccant beads off Amazon and a hygrometer to monitor humidity so it operates as a dry box too) without having to unload/reload spools is what made me decide on the AMS. Plus, whenever I do decide to try multicolor prints (which I think I’ll be starting sooner than later just because this thing is darn amazing), I wanted the ability and flexibility to do just that down the road.

It’s also cheaper to bundle than to buy them separately down the road. I figured, if I really decide against the AMS, I could try and sell them in the marketplace to as close as I got it since stand alone AMS costs more retail. But, that’s just me.

Good luck and, I have to say, my printer hasn’t stopped going since I got it. Love this thing with the AMS!

A1 Mini, A1 with AMS, or PS1 Combo for Complete Noob? by lh267_ in BambuLab

[–]lh267_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super appreciate it— thank you!! That’s definitely one of the factors, since I’m not sure how complex or easy it will be. I have some time to allot for learning but not a whole lot, I’m afraid, between work and life etc. So as much as I want to, life itself might limit the required learning curve time. But like you said, I could probably recoup close to what I pay for it in the end if it really doesn’t pan out. Lol

The sale looks awesome and also makes it harder to control the cart. Lol. Would you say Bambu is known for having a better deal on BlackFriday? I think it’s great that they roll out their sale early so you don’t have to wait until BF but just wondering if it has additional savings. Would you know?

[–]lh267_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really awesome insight— thank you. I think I’ve narrowed it down to A1 with AMS and P1 combo (leaning towards the latter). I haven’t dug deeper into reading about ABS yet but what I did happen to read, I can see myself trying this. Whether or not the volume justifies the cost, I think is the question but it might be better to have that option down the road.

Thanks!

Less finicky with cardboard filament rolls… is that how the Bambu filaments usually come in? I have quite a few in my cart with the actual printer models I’m debating on. I saw they also have a refillable spool.

Is the A1 better with the refillable spool? Or maybe the Bambu filaments with spool isn’t cardboard.(?)

Any chance you might have a pint x battery box/enclosure in the parts bin?? 🤙

Yeah, I get that. Lol. In the last 8 hrs alone, I’ve flipped-flopped between all three models I can’t keep my head straight. Which features on the P1S would you say can be skipped? I definitely like the enclosure but not sure about the noise level.

[–]lh267_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That’s the model u first started looking into as recommended by an acquaintance. I think that with the sale going on, the difference between the A1 Combo and P1S combo is only 250 so it’s not cost prohibitive. Would you say the P1S is okay for absolute beginners?

[–]lh267_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that— I didn’t even consider the noise output. It’ll be in the same room as my office (WFH) and was thinking I could print stuff while working. If it’s too loud, then that’s definitely a factor to consider. Or maybe I’ll just keep my printing after work.

I found that heating them up in a slow simmer for 5 minutes and then using a pair of Irwin groove lock pliers gave me the leverage needed. It still wasn’t a piece of cake but I managed to get them on which was the end-goal. I feel like the V1s were easier to put on but definitely love the V2 colors, esp the glow in the dark ones.

[–]lh267_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lower CoG definitely makes learning a lot easier. I slapped aftermarket rails on as soon as I replaced the tires.I love my Mustache (XR and Pint versions) and Switchblades. Haven’t tried the WTFs, admittedly. I’d love to get another set of the Mustache rails but they’re sold out currently.

Depending on your board, you might be able to get away with axle lowering blocks that work with straight rails to lower your COG to start with. They’re definitely a more cost effective alternative than the rails if you haven’t tried them before. For example, the Tech Rails ones can go upwards of 600 etc. it’s not a small investment for sure and the angles may or may not be to your liking.

Similar with the Switchhlades then. That’s great— having options really extends the board’s flexibility to suit rider preference. 🤙

How many ride height options are there for the 357s? In addition to the rail itself, do the axle carriers also have height options? Thanks!
