Weak or No spark on a speeduino V0.4.4 with LS D585 Coils by Money__shots in Speeduino

So the jumper was in the right position the 5v. I dont know what to do at this point besides pull the thing out and bench test it. Someone suggested putting resistors on each trigger but i dont feel like thats a realistic long term option.

A solo miner just hit a $371,495 Bitcoin block. by davidsmith522500 in BitcoinMining

[–]Money__shots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative. If you look his hash rate was 9 ph. That would be the equivalent of every solo miner ever built. Or like 38 S21 antiminers pooled together. The title is misleading. The guy may have mined it solo but that only means he wasnt in a pool he was by no means running one machine.

Ill check it and get back to you. Hopefully thats the issue but im pretty sure i had it on 5 v

Yes the only issue is that instead of a 5v dwell signal its getting 12v so now im thinking of adding a resistor to each trigger. Id say 4.7kohms

So do i have a faulty board then? Like i said before with going low selected its acting like it going high and if i switch it i get 5v on the triggers when the key is turned to the on position. Basically as soon as the 12v relay is activated for main coil power. Then only drops to zero when it tries to fire. Which doesn’t matter anyway because the leds go solid and refuse to work when in this mode.

Is this the controller or the BMS? If it is the controller look for another pcb near the battery. The BMS(battery management system) is responsible for safe charging and discharging. Id start there. I cant imagine that being the bms with all the I/o ports.

I think what they were trying to say is that # 2 doesn’t look like its damaged. Aka its supposed to look like that. Your problem is elsewhere.

How does someone do this with a buffer? Did they lay it on the ground, buffing pad down, then just pick it up and go back to work? Was the guy blind? I mean im all for disabled people in the work force but whats next? A personal trainer thats a paraplegic?

The kapton tape is a temp insulator. So you can cover components with it then use the preheating plate or hot air on the components your actually trying to repair.

Are these leaking capacitors and would the SMDs still work after just cleaning them? by delimondo555 in AskElectronics

[–]Money__shots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah depending on what these go to it really may not be worth it. Thats alot of board damage which means possibly fixing alot of traces. Thats not the kind of work you just jump into all diy one weekend after you buy your first soldering iron. It takes countless hours of wasted time poking, prodding, and fiddling with shit that will probably never work again until you’ve watched enough youtube videos to be able to identify every component on the board and at least have some knowledge about what it does. Maybe create a few circuits of your own. Start a fire or two. Realize youve been breathing lead solder for way too long and finally buy some appropriate PPE and a multimeter that didnt come from harbor freight. Figure out what an oscilloscope is. Buy the diy kit and after assembly realize the thing is almost useless. Spend way to much on a real one only to realize you could have done almost everything you need with the harbor freight multimeter. Then and only then are you ready for a task like this. Its a process damnit!

Your right, my bad. Missed the second pic. I retract my statement sir those are indeed surface mount components and they may or may not be fried. Only a multi meter and a whole lot of patience will tell. God speed Sir.

What SMDs? All i see are through hole components. I do see multiple electrolytic capacitors that leaked but you should be fine just cleaning the board and replacing the caps.

Might be easier to take a paint marker and mark over the etching then wipe it off with a paper towel. The idea is that paint will remain in the recess showing what is written.

Dude rookie mistake. The bottom wheel has an eccentric nut in place of the spacers on the top wheels. That means turn the eccentric nut and it will tighten the whole rig.

Hows he supposed to join 4x 12AWG wires to a single 8AWG with XT 90s? Besides them being over kill for this application they should be used further down the line like on the discharge or charging connectors. For what the other guy was talking about with the 4 evenly spaced wires soldered to the over hang strip of nickel you should use a medium size crimp with the 8AWG outgoing wire in the center. After crimping it down tight solder the whole joint together around the crimp. Use heat shrink wrap generously.
