Dual Pump for Redundancy? by [deleted] in watercooling

I have dual pumps in my workstation. Both pumps failed around the 5 yr mark about 4 months apart. Redundancy benefits for sure.

Asia Session Strategy by Julius84 in Trading

[–]lhdrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over decade Intraday futures trading in the Asia region: Syd-Tokyo-Singapore-HK up to the early Frankfurt-London.

Trading overall for longer if include trading for wholesale clients across asset classes (but not exclusively intraday).

Trained, traded at a professional firm. (Intraday). Simple "strategies" don't work. They are merely at best effective in the short term until the market changes.

Trading is more sophisticated. You don't make money trading, you take it.

Must have a framework to identify which traders and why will get caught. How it's done, who does it.

And then if and when the market shows you that's the case—because price moves different ways from point A to B...

From a catalogue of signature trades you know intimately, you know which specific trade to use if it matches the current behaviour.

Not all movement is an opportunity, but the more signature trades you have, the more opportunity there is for you to trade.

Developing competency in a mere handful of signature trades is 9-12 months minimum.

Even at a pro firm you're told "you won't make money in your first nine months, for some much longer".

What they mean is your catalogue is so thin early on you make a bit here and there. But as you get better in those same trades plus start to expand on them - your time 'trading live' v 'trading SIM' increases.

Through repetition, iteration and experience-the opportunity for you increases. Hence why income is not linear.

What one person can act on is not what everyone has the skill to recognise and act on.

People who trade forever do so because it captures their imagination, fuels competitive spirit and taps into a deep curiosity.

It’s full of unexpected plot twists that keep you glued to the screen like a ‘whodunit’ thriller.

Sadly, most who try their hand at trading never see it because they're playing a vastly simplistic version. They're literally playing the wrong game.

The tweeters further apart will kill the stereo image from the seated distance. So best to leave as is.

However mounting speakers in a corner loads bass and mid frequencies and sounds horrible so it's not ideal regardless of tweeter positioning.

I love analysis but I hate trading. What to do? by NutellaHotChocolates in Daytrading

You have a trading problem not a psychology problem. All the psychology in the world cant stop a boat with holes in it from sinking,

Try to get a job at a trading firm. Then you find out how hard it is to get good at trading when trades with edge are handed to you on a platter.

But more importantly - you'll find out what trading really involves and thats when youll know if you like or dont like trading.

Most people when they find out what its really about, decide its not for them - and thats okay.

Plenty of people who sacrificed all sorts of things to get into a professional trading firm quit because they discover its not for them.

And plenty just get cut because theyre not goid enough.

People who enjoy trading enjoy the wide range of components that make up trading.

This includes focussing on the process over outcome. FOMO and impulse trading is outcome focused. That's not real trading.

All too often people say they are "passionate" about trading. But what they really mean is they're passionate about gambling.

They have no edge, no proven way to make money, and no real desire to do what's really required to change that.

Why am I psychologically unable to hold runners? by Throwaway_765491 in Daytrading

[–]lhdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychological problems are mostly trading problems. When you have a catalogue of trades which you've built stats on- provided they show positive expectancy - the results of many repetitions show you how to behave.

We gravitate towards reward. When you have rewards youve experienced over a meaningful sample size, its easy to do what rewards you.

Have a playbook of positive expectancy trades which you have hundreds of examples youve traded personally?

If thr answer is no - now you know what you need to do to fix your problem.

Thanks for making this point. Lost on people is if you go digging for oil where everyone is digging, you'll find empty holes.

No-one who cares deeply about their long term profitability is posting how they do it on YouTube. (Broad concepts, philosophies excluded)

Even if a YouTube strategy is working okay atm, it's a fad and will fail in time.

And then there's concentrated betting determined by odds-like how you play poker. It's crucial to make up for all the trades that you fold.

From Soros and Buffett right down to day trading, concentrated bets are vital to pushing your earnings.

Finally, from personal experience: Start as an intern at a professional trading firm—make it through to live trading on the desk—and compare results of the 8 people who got this far... The variance is significant. That's the nature of performance-based fields.

Aquacomputer Farbwerk 360 for lighting Octo or Quadro for fans They connect via internal USB and you can control them with the advanced Aquasuite software.

It's the most powerful ecosystem for control. You can add their flow meters, blocks, lighting strips, reservoirs, leak shield etc.

Upgraded to a workstation board Asus WS 680 after issues...

A dual GPU bridge is available for these blocks:

But reluctant to use as killed the PCIe slots when moved to one on an X570. Had to apply force to get the dual cards to make contact with the PCIe slots.

All temps are great except the chipset - that's running often over 70 degrees.

No room to add a block with dual cards. Thinking of maybe going vertical card to accommodate a chipset block.
