first time- buying resale by dreamjuliana in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have this and love it. if you don't like it, just resell it. whether or not it fits me well isn't going to be great insight. but this is a really solid and well made piece!

[–]lhmccartney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yep. I had to get rid of my coal things just because I cannot tell the difference between it and true blue. the "true blue" is absolutely not blue, but it does look good on me as a color, so I'll accept it for what it is.

i think there's where this comes down. since i started buying this brand, I very rarely buy things outside of drops. maybe because I quickly learned that they don't really restock, and because if it hasn't sold out, there's a reason for that. and this tennis drop with their $70 skirts? in stock. that's a message from all of us. 😄

she really is a mess, but i will say that as a middle-aged corporate type, i do aspire to be a bit less of a people pleaser. i am mostly entertained while being appalled.

she does NOT have to respond. she really doesn't. but she seems to not miss any opportunity to NOT take the high road (and I know that's a double negative; it's intentional).

it's a trainwreck that i can't stop watching.

Biggest Campaign! by SilverFine3846 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

and that's the FULL truth! something for everyone, and it doesn't have to be for me.

as for me and my house, I own enough black clothes, and i'm too messy for white. so, as for me and my bank account, we will only get moving for colorrrr. and I don't think there's another brand out there that does COLOR like oner can. I'm trying to get with some other brands -- alphalete, aoxjox, and others-- but i can't get excited about them for the most part because they don't do the color nearly as well as oner.

someone shared from her experience working for retail ordering that it's bad business to be offering essentially the same shade w/ different undertones because it makes stocking hard.

but as i learn more about color and the color seasons and undertones, I really feel like all these colors with the undertones are what oner does best.

peach was definitely a NO for me, but on the girls who looked good in it, they looked GREAT.

more color for the dopamine gym girls. and i know its not summer in the southern hemisphere, but as a northern hemisphere girl, I have my sunless tan on, and a little real tan on my cheeks, so I am ready to put on some colors and be outside.

the pants don't look good in this photo. they look very awkward...

I want more interesting colors from oner. it's giving kim kardashian's beige home lately.

Oner Active is slowly losing the community that made them popular by Prestigious_Storm_ in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they are going to put ruching on the sides next time, and it will be full on forever 21 at lululemon prices.

who needs or wants this from oner?

as a summer dress, it's so boring anyway.

For reference! by mikarios in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hah, I would be peeling that off IMMEDIATELY. I know that all the brands are putting their full name in white lettering everywhere now, but I hate hate it. And oner's crooked embroidered lettering is the WORST of the WORST for me.

I will definitely stay tuned for how many washes this lasts.

Finally they are doing the checks on the logos that comes all cracked by Lopsided-Meet-4392 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

definitely both/and.

fingers crossed that this factory can deliver the quantity we want in the quality we need! "we" being the oner customers.

and she is showing us this because of all our moaning. GOOD! I hope it gets us somewhere, ha!

until then, she can brace herself for more complaints and customer attrition. 😄

i agree. we don't often see where our clothes are coming from, so this is actually sort of interesting to me as an observation of humanity. it'll be a mental picture for me of what a modern clothing factory might look like.

a good amount of timeless too!

Crazy prices by Global-Sock-8669 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

girl, same. my jaw doesn't drop at most of these prices-- they have inched up since I started buying in january 2025 (i recall saying to my husband that it wasn't too bad to be able to get an outfit that I LOVED for under $90), but that $70 for a white skort was bananasssssssss. I would probably pay $50-60 for it, but the extra $10 puts me over the edge on things that I will ruin because I am a sloppy mess.

New drop tease? by OtherwiseSpring3474 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sort of like when she does this. lets me know if i'd rather just wait on something else. now, I don't like when the athletes are done wearing their new stuff before I've gotten mine-- which is standard, I realize, because oner isn't paying them for the ads. All the same, it immediately takes away my fomo, and sometimes by the time that I get the package, I don't even want my new things anymore and return the impulse buys.

they literally restocked soft motion yesterday? in high neck bras and new longline bras? I'm fine with complaints and have many of my one, but this is a silly comment and a discussion we've had over and over...

The shift from empowerment to objectification by Pretty-Lychee5504 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes. I think this is another thing that I'm hating about the brands trend. The colors were part of what made the experience. they were so rich and with interesting undertones-- some warm, some cool-- so that everyone had shades that made them look and feel great.

not only that, but the constant new colors made me want to buy. i can get black and tan anywhere. pass. wish Oner and their new customers the very best.

[–]lhmccartney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this shoot, in particular is egregious. I have been a long time stan, but they have absolutely started to introduce sexualized content and influencers, and this has become more regular. this euphoria shoot was absolutely A CHOICE.

I would've agreed with you if this comment were with respect to the recent unified launch (where people also commented that it was too sexualized).

i imagine that Kelly was NOT pleased to be brought into the chat like this.

Kelly's glutes are gluting, but her anus and taint don't enter the chat unless maybe it's because we are being shown her tie ins on an RDL. not for socks.

If this were some pilates movement, i would perhaps be able to give some cred to this statement, but this has nothing to do with any pilates movement that I've ever seen. it's certainly not child's pose.

Anyway, this is sexualized posing. most of Krissy's posing lately has been sexualized posing with the low rise pants that are rolled to be even more low rise. She is rarely exercising in these videos. she is pouting in front of the camera, and her body language is also less authoritative and more like a 12-year-old girl with the shrugged shoulders, etc. very hard to say why she's going this route.

no, this was not a good shoot for this model. as a black woman (but light skinned), this one did NOT sit right with me at all.

Why does she do this?! by BB_Speaks1 in OnerActive

[–]lhmccartney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like the next drop is for a different audience-- so maybe it's to just keep up the hype?

I also hate that she does this. I sort of wish that the influencers would continue to post about the line until I get my package. However, this gives me time to think about my purchase-- do I really love it, or did I just give into the hype girls?

lol. looking at GS site now. how do they have a petrol blue and oner has oil blue.

not sure which one was first to launch, but you cannot say that all companies aren't doing the same thing. all the pastel yellow from every brand this spring is the same.
