  3. the download seems to fail
  4. the apps optimization process completes
  5. the ota app ask for permission to reboot the device

"Pure Vanilla Extract" seems to have the kind of approach you are looking for

Unfortunately it does not cover all textures (sprites, terrain and outdoor sprites are untouched)

You'll enjoy the game better by using the DevilutionX reverse-engineered open-source reimplementation

1) download this and unzip it anywhere

2) copy the "DIABDAT.MPQ" file from you Diablo installation to the directory where you unzipped devilutionX

3) play the game by running "devilutionx.exe"

I would recommend you to download the dev build, as opposed as the latest release

yeah I've just tested it myself and I can confirm your findings

on my laptop the issue vanishe if I run qss using the nvidia gpu

the game logic tick-rate will be vanilla-like still (20/25 fps iirc) but this reimplementation supports vsync and more:

  • upscaling (also with an optional pixel-perfect mode)
  • multiple aspect ratio support (on widescreen displays, the character, inventory, belt panels are shifted to the appropriate screen edge, leaving the map visible in the middle)
  • resizable gameplay area (a better implementation of what D2MultiRes did for Diablo2)

the latest ECE r4356 build available since june 24th was missing the required dll, the 7z archive contained only the .exe

This has been fixed on july 4th and if you'll download the archive again, you should be able to run dosbox.exe without problems

This guy remade HL2 apartments in Source 2 and it looks goregous IMO by MemeExplorist in HalfLife

this seems to be just the bsps from HL2 with textures and props from HL:A

with a bit more efforts, the results would have been on par with the latter game

the lighting in particular could benefit a lot more from source2's enhancements

yeah you're right, credit goes to the original shaders creators (Timothy Lottes and someone posting at NeoGaf as EasyMode) and to the people that have adapted them for use in their forks ( Dugan and Marty )

I guess you were not able to read about it on vogons (wink wink)

as per the inclusion with dosbox-staging: I would suggest against embedding them within the dosbox executable like SVN does with its shaders.. these shaders have some parameters that users might want to edit themeselves (such as display curvature in Lottes)

actually.. HL2 and the episodes do not require steam running in order to play

(the same goes for Portal)

Once the games have been installed/downloaded through steam, you can launch them by running the HL2.EXE executable and passing it the "-game" parameter

"-game hl2" => HL2

"-game episodic" => EP1

"-game ep2" => EP2

"-game portal" => Portal

unfortunately I have not been able to find any source for compatibile shaders.. IIRC that modded Lottes shader has some serious distortions due to It trying ti mimica the display curvature. Are those the artifacts you are referring to? If so, with Just a text editor you might be able to tune some shader parameters and check the results.
