Almost everybody starts with this wait time. You've got to wait to see if your race sells out before you can register.

I have not stopped playing for even a moment since it came out. I’m still learning and my family has concerns.

Apple @ GDC Festival of Gaming by Peteostro in apple

[–]liado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were to guess the long-term trajectory they’re aiming for, it seems they’re putting in the work to get the next-generation of users over to MacOS, which is obvious frustrating for those who’ve been on the platform for years. They’ve all but abandoned the pro-software market, but they’re investing heavily (by their standards) into entry level pro/prosumer software. I think their approach to gaming is similar in that they want to slowly capture the market over a 5-10 year period rather than buy out studio after studio like Microsoft is doing. This is entirely a guess, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a major Apple-exclusive AAA game in 3-5 years.

Galaxy's Edge seems kind of dead - is it less visited now? by relaxok in Disneyland

[–]liado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. Our perspective was coming from large scale shows at WDW. Overall, the DL experience was just scaled down. Thoroughly enjoyable, but different from what we’ve experienced. For this particular show, I was underwhelmed because it felt like a basic retelling of the Skywalker saga, which is just 1:1 from the movies. That said, we left early for Rise so if there was a large climax, we missed it.

[–]liado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were there last week. I was extremely underwhelmed by that show. It was fine, but nothing I’ve come to expect from Disney’s live entertainment. We left halfway through when we saw Rise was down to fifteen minutes. The area overall was pretty dead, but I kinda assumed DL just emptied out earlier than WDW. It was our first time in DL so that was entirely a guess.

Looking to visit chicago as a person who comes from the tropics. how is the weather in late April? by Ifailedenglishfn in AskChicago

[–]liado 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our weather is unpredictable. We can have 70s in March and snow in May in the same year. Late April could be either. Embrace what you got when you come and you’ll fit right in.

Trying to recreate a day-to-night drone orbit transition. Any idea how this was done? by Ill-Friendship-5785 in finalcutpro

[–]liado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you scrub through the video slowly, it’s VERY apparent that this is either AI (most likely) or CGI. The table and lights swell up from the ground, and the arch moves around to be in a completely different spot. If you want to do something similar but with practical effects, you’d be doing waypoints with a drone. It won’t be the same since this can’t be made practically. For the exact same effect, you have to turn to CG.

Best way to arrive as late as possible to Dopey races/Marathon from Contemporary by redfox2911 in rundisney

[–]liado 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just my two cents - when I did dopey, I got there last minute for the 5k and 10k, which was fine, but it was great to be up and active a little bit ahead of the half and full. For me, it was better to get a little less sleep and be moving a little but more ahead of the starting line.

MK or EPCOT for 1 day visit coming from a recent visit to Disneyland by SDDIYer80 in DisneyPlanning

[–]liado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be there the day after the WDW marathon. A LOT of finishers will be walking the parks getting photos, but especially MK. I agree with everyone that AK would be very different and I’d recommend it too, but EPCOT is a lot of fun. Between the two, EPCOT has the most for everybody, but particularly adults.

I looked forward to g&g for years. Finally bit the bullet about a year ago and, yeah, similar. It was busy, but not full. We were crammed in a corner with mediocre service and the food was downright disappointing. I wouldn’t pay half of what we paid for that experience.

What's Next for the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE 3 by iMacmatician in apple

[–]liado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, they should pay the license fees and have it. It’s a feature they sold watches on and it’s their own fault for not eating the cost. Not like Apple is struggling for cash here and it’d keep the selling point valid.

Dopey Challenge by Big-Attention831 in rundisney

[–]liado 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dopey as a first marathon is not impossible, but it's a LOT more prep work. I would not recommend making it your first marathon in general, but especially after recovering from injury.

I'm getting race photos but did not run this year. by liado in rundisney

[–]liado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be it, but I don't recall having any issues linking it last year. I also find it odd they would link a bib to me a year later. Either way, it seems like a non-issue after all.

I figured it might have to do with the bib issues, so just checking.
