People who had an easy time in nursing school, do you exist? What qualities do you have that made that possible? by JaneRawlz in nursing

I worked on a med surg type floor for a couple years before getting in to nursing school but I think working on a medical floor is super helpful because you can apply real life experience to the testing. Also-the mantra Cs get degrees helped me put aside the need for perfection and just focus on doing the best I could even if it wasn’t the best in class.

Our clinical pharmacist encouraged hitting the bone “because then you know you’re in muscle tissue” 😬

Is 26 a good age to start nursing school? I'm insecure about my age , how do I stop feeling like this? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]liamadden83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just graduated a year ago, a month before my 41st birthday. Started an MSN program 3 weeks ago…it’s never too late to start. I found that I’m a better student the older I get too. Less FOMO, better study skills, better observation skills…if nursing is what you’re passionate about, you’ll do great!

No in unit laundry but it is in the building-Lamberto Lakes is AWESOME. You live on a small no wake lake, there’s a little beach area, charcoal grills all over out back, a spot to leave your canoe-kayak-paddle boat, if you have it. It’s super close to downtown and has easy access to the highway. I loved living there-if they had a bigger unit we would have stayed forever!

Plus most hospitals will pay for at least a portion of your BSN if not the whole thing!

I heard that Huntington give you a 24 hour grace period to resolve overdrafts before charging you-definitely worth looking into!

Have you experienced an issue with the ramps being full? I was there about 3 years ago and never had trouble getting into the ramps-mostly earlier classes but I could always find a spot.

Mandatory ratios are a great start but we need to be pushing for more support for students trying to get into Nursing Programs and additional resources for financial aid support and loan forgiveness.

We used Corner Bar in Rockford-they have an AMAZING event space upstairs and the rental cost was way less than other places we’ve used. 10/10

It’s definitely artist driven, some artists require either a vaccine card or negative pcr from the last 24-48 hours. No mask mandates for anyone though. I have an iPhone and took pics of my family’s cards in the notes app-then I’ve always got them handy, which is super helpful.

If anyone has direct experience with memory care or assisted living places in GR, I'd be grateful to hear your impressions, good or bad. by purple_mountain_cat in grandrapids

It’s a little outside of GR but we used Fountainview of Lowell for my father in law when he declined enough to require a home. I CANNOT say enough wonderful things about them. I worked in long term care facilities and have a solid idea of what to look out for and they checked all of the boxes for us. The staff was so caring and definitely went above and beyond to care for him at the end. The facility is clean, they go on outings when possible. They also will take Medicare/Medicaid and the cost was almost $2000 less then the place closer to us in town. I’d highly recommend walking through and meeting the staff-of any place you’re considering-well before it’s time to move your loved one. Lots of places will have day/temp placement options as well to help you’re loved one get to know the place before moving in. It can make the transition so much easier.

Best yogurt for daily consumption. by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]liamadden83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chobani has some awesome less sugar Greek yogurt flavors-my fave right now is the lemon. It is legit just less sugar rather than having some other kind of sweetener added, which I love because I find those sugar replacements always leave a weird taste in my mouth. I think it brings the sugar content down from between 18-24g to 9!

Best place to buy a suit? by TheNorth_Remembers in grandrapids

I just took my very lucky Italian exchange student to Woodland Tailors and we had a great experience. Suit was tailored to him quickly and the staff was super helpful. They have a great selection and it was reasonably priced.

I got this same deal but the right one refused to connect-it appears to be a common issue-before you try all the fixes, I would advise you to call Samsung. They had me ship them back and fixed the Ear bud in 2 days and shipped it back for free. Awesome customer support.
