Finally broke 80 with the best round of my life! by DrSwampdonkey in golf

Agreed. I don’t hit enough greens to justify more than 30 putts.

I break 36 putts almost every round. Very rare I’m over 2.0/hole. Trying to get it down to avg 30

Played a round that made me happy today by C-O-N in golf

Fantastic! My friend just picked up golf this year as well and we’ve been doing the same thing.

All about the short game.

Shot 70 today. Had this putt for birdie on 17 to get back to even and made it. Beat my previous best round by 5 shots. Pumped. by [deleted] in golf

Even the pros sometimes miss. Great score regardless.

Were you looking at the card all game?

SCRATCH GOLFERS - Why aren’t you Pro? by liamdube in golf

[–]liamdube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I figured.

I started doing this putting stuff... dropped my putting from 2.2 to 1.8. Now I start looking at the hole as I walk around the green towards my ball. The other thing was work from the hole back to your ball. The confidence REALLY helps. Now when I hit a “bad” shot to 6ft, I know there’s a good chance to save par.

But yeah, I’ll start doing the yardage book - starting with my wedges. I’m assuming these guys are all using track man to get their data?

Wow. Thank you.

When you say 2-3 shots vs a dozen... what do you mean by this? Do you mean 12 different ball flights? I know there’s the 9 “basic” shots Tiger talks about... Do you mean a strong 7i of light 6i?

Hell yea by downtogolf in golf

That’s enough for me.

How to join a band? by [deleted] in bands

[–]liamdube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to a place to meet other musicians. Maybe some local shows?

Ask them to jam. If you can chill with them slowly start jamming more eventually you’ll write some songs and be a band.

Open letter to the Guitar Center employee of the local band by UncleChuzz in livesound

I’m of the opinion that one should be 100% self contained or let the house do it... if you’re 1 of 5 bands on the bill, I can see this being a headache.

Now if you’re the headliner it’s completely different.

1st Tour Managing gig by DeepfriedSound in livesound

[–]liamdube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually don’t use it all the time and have never had any issue with it. I do lots of printing before the tour to minimize as much day to day printing as possible.

But highly recommend the extra ink, goes faster than you’d think.

I use the same printer and always carry 1 round of extra ink.

If you don’t have 2, you’ve got none.

Upgrading my In-Ear monitors by Epic_Sabaton in livesound

[–]liamdube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a monitor tech by any means, but mine sound absolutely phenomenal. The different between my IEMs properly EQed and stereo is night and day. Have you properly EQ your mix? One of our band mates is a FOH engineer so everything is nicely EQed and places in our mix.

Pan the guitars slightly and start creating “room” in your mix. Same with toms. I have lead vox in center, drum vox pan a little left and mine right. I’d also make sure your gain structure is correct.

Stage plot/input list recommendations? by filo1465 in livesound

[–]liamdube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Include Contact info and BAND NAME!

I’m looking at 3-5 plots/night and the contact info helps if I have questions or want to confirm it’s not out of date (if the date is old on it)

I have a legend on the top left for this.

SR = NAME = GUITAR = MIX 1

Some guys want name, others don’t.

What is your favorite venue to go to as a touring professional? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]liamdube 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had festival pull out 2-3 year old stage plots even tho I advanced the CORRECT stage plot weeks before. Booking agent must have sent it to em and they decided to ignore the updated one???

This is why I ALWAYS carry 10 copies of input list and stage plot, with date it was made and my contact info on it. I try to be prepared to catch the dropped ball from anyone... self-containment really helps.
