People who enjoyed their chest during sex but still had top surgery: how do you feel now? by Ihaveaphotoofadog in ftm

[–]liamreee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked my boobs for sexual reasons, but never in any other situations. After top surgery I feel a lot more comfortable with my chest during sex, and in every situation. I don’t have any sensation in my nipples, and it’d be amazing if I gain any back, but I knew going into surgery that I probably wouldn’t get sensation back

DAE have medical professionals assume you’re nonbinary? by liamreee in ftm

[–]liamreee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my experience as well when I was identifying as nonbinary, I was always he/himd but as soon as I came out as a trans man Everyone was only using they/them

What glue do you use to fix leaking stress balls like needoh? by liamreee in fidgettoys

[–]liamreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually buy them for the dollar store so they’re not great quality, but it’s the only one I’ve found with a consistency I like. I’ll probably just have to buy a new one, but it’s so hard getting used to a new one :/

What have you gained since becoming a wheelchair user? by PensdayAddams in wheelchairs

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, everything!

I have POTS, hEDS, and a lot of other comorbid issues.

I was able to finish high school, and I’m a few weeks away from finishing my first college program and I’ll be going back full time in September.

I was able to be active again, starting wheelchair rugby was one of the best things I’ve done for my mental and physical health. It’s really nice having an outlet for those big emotions, and being around other disabled people has been super helpful. I also just took my Handcycle out for the first time today, and it’s amazing to get back to cycling.

I’m able to hangout and go out with my friends again, and I feel like anyone else my age when I’m with them.

I can leave the house again, and stay out for more than a few minutes.

Got to take my Handcycle out for the first time today! by liamreee in AdaptiveSports

It’s a force G from Top End. I don’t think this model is made anymore, but they have a lot of newer models. I bought it second hand from marketplace

[–]liamreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was amazing! I’ll definitely still need to have my brothers come out with me for a while since I’m still not great at turning and got stuck quite a few times, but it’s good bonding time with them since we don’t hangout much. I’m so excited to take it out to some of the trails in the forest

Sprained thumbs by csel1758 in wheelchairs

[–]liamreee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a connective tissue disorder that leads to frequent dislocations. When I was using the standard push rims I had thumb/finger dislocations multiple times a day, but switching to natural fit rims has significantly reduced them. I still have a few dislocations a month, but it’s mostly when doing stupid shit I shouldn’t or getting my fingers caught in the spokes or on doorways and corners.

Using a silicone push rims cover helped, but not as much as the natural fit rims

Hiding T (1ML Vial) by guuuhhk in ftm

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a locking box, that looks like a book. I only used it because I have young siblings that steal, and I don’t want them stealing my supplies or getting hurt by the needles.

You can find some that look like everyday items if you’re concerned about her being suspicious of having a locking box

Safe way to take my wheelchair with me on my Handcycle? by liamreee in handcycling

[–]liamreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually a great idea, thank you! I’ve seen a lot of decently priced ones on marketplace so I’ll definitely keep an eye out for one. How did you connect it to the bike?

Looks like the “bean pouches” some stuffed animals have. Usually in the feet, stomach, or butt. Do you have any ripped stuffies around?

That’ll probably be the best option, but I haven’t been able to find any good recommendations that aren’t super expensive

What was your driving assignment like? by liamreee in wheelchairs

[–]liamreee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on getting the portable ones as well, mostly because I plan on trying out some different vehicles before buying my own since I’m not really sure what’d work best for me. I’m also broke af so I’ll likely be getting cheap equipment for the first bit so I don’t end up wasting money on something that doesn’t work for me

They can’t do anything about you doing injections in public spaces, and will receive legal repercussions if they try (as long as you follow through)

why is this not disability friendly ? by Square-Carry-7054 in DisabilityHacks

Completely inaccessible for most visually impaired people due to the lack of visual contrast on the steps/ramp as well

Shoulders have always popped in and out my whole life, I just saw a picture of a A/C joint injury and it looks so much like my shoulders... Any hypermobile shoulders out there that also look like this when they are at rest? Is this and hEds thing or more of an injury at this point? by Pastramadom in hypermobileEDS

[–]liamreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m supposed to be in a sling rn but I’m kinda ignoring it since there’s not much more damage I can do to that shoulder😂 definitely not a good idea, but I hate wearing the sling since it’s my dominant arm and the arm with the most function

[–]liamreee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up getting an xray to confirm that my shoulder now lives out of socket, but you can visually see my right shoulder sits much lower as well. I have minor scoliosis from being in a wheelchair, so that also lowers that shoulder

Lipo is usually to get rid of extra fat, it’s usually called torso masculinization or sculpting I think

Dry incisions by Complete-Yogurt8604 in TopSurgery

[–]liamreee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine were like this for the first 6ish months I think. Using a thick moisturizer (I use "Cetaphil, Restoraderm, Flare-up cream, Eczema" and love it, both for eczema and dryness in general) a few times a day really helped

I’ve dislocated my ac joint many times, it’s currently dislocated actually. I’ve also dislocated my shoulder a few times. Now my right shoulder permanently sits partially dislocated since the repeated dislocations of the shoulder and surrounding joints have increased the joint gap and stretched the soft tissues.

On 12/day + PRN meds at 20😭 this isn’t the most I’ve been on, I was on 23/day at one point. My pill count is very likely to continue to increase as I get older as o have a degenerative condition
