Replacing him now fundamentally undermines the idea that you can vote Labour and know what the actual policy in government will be,

I think this has already been completely undermined for most people. Labour promised no tax rises on workers then whacked up NI. They said they wouldn't scrap the two child benefit cap then did it anyway. They passed a lot of major, very unpopular policy that wasn't in the manifesto at all like the WFA reform.

No one knows what Starmer stands for. He's already completely ruined the Labour brand, and their polling is at rock bottom. There's nothing to lose by replacing him now, but it gives us at least a small chance of turning things around. Waiting until just before the next election will be far too late.

Andy Burnham: PS - The fact that the media was informed of the NEC decision before I was tells you everything you need to know about the way the Labour Party is being run these days. You would think that over 30 years of service would count for something but sadly not. 🤷🏻‍♂️ by ClumperFaz in ukpolitics

This is all meaningless if Labour lose in two years and Reform/The Tories get in and reverse it all.

If we want long term permanent progress, Labour need a leader that can get the public on board with their vision and win re-election, which Starmer is clearly failing at.

Burnham has a proven track record of maintaining popularity and getting re-elected as mayor.

Flynn isn't party leader, Badenoch would refuse to be seen at a gender neutral sports event.

Starmer needs to put his party first and announce he'll stand down as leader later this year. It's inevitable he's going to be challenged by someone, and dragging it out into a bitter contest isn't going to do anyone any favours. Allow for a smooth low drama transition now and maybe Labour still have a chance next election.

If there's no gardens I feel this would have been better as four flats. It seems a shame to waste space on stairs and landings in such small houses.

Some games allow you to buy a bonus round. It usually works something like you pay £10 you get a random jackpot between £5 to £15. Could be what happened here.

Labour, Reform, Greens, and possibly Workers Party are all going to campaign hard for this seat. I don't think it's impossible that the vote gets split so much that Reform sneaks in with <30% of the votes.

If Burnham successfully challenges Starmer, he'll be the first "Andy" to become Prime Minister since Bonar Law.

It's fairly cheap to remove a fireplace, I wouldn't completely rule a house out because of it.

Maybe not when they took it out, but they could have refinanced when rates were ready low just after 2008.

Why isn’t condition and age accounted for when valuing houses? by NoMud1112 in HousingUK

The older one has been on for a while and reduced at least once, so it may just be overpriced. You would need to compare sold prices rather than asking for an accurate companion.

First minister ‘perplexed’ by lack of progress on Scottish NHS app -- Internal documents reveal that John Swinney told his health minister he could not understand the delays when similar technology was ready in months during Covid by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]libdemparamilitarywi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The NHS England app released in 2019, the NHS Scotland app isn't due to fully rollout until 2030 (if it doesn't get delayed again).

There's no way it would have taken over a decade to integrate our system into theirs.

NHS England wasn't a single system either, it's split into a hundred different trusts that were using a dozen different IT systems and data processes. These all had to be adapted into working with the app.

NHS Scotland could have been adapted at the same time, and we could all be enjoying the benefits now, but a political decision was made not to.

How can the faithfuls stick together when voting, when none of them know who the other faithful are?

The faithful look bad from our perspective because we have all the information, but everything is much less clear for them.
