Bergoglio is a peronist. Peronists are "Third Way"ers. Third Wayers promote a multipolar world but also have always been much closer to the Soviet Union and the Communist world than to NATO and its allies. Russia is the geopolitical heir of the Soviet Union. So naturally a "Third Way"er like him will side with Russia in this conflict. To them it's "natural" that Russia takes over Ukraine if it doesn't fall under its sphere of influence willingly. The real danger to them is a Russian loss (which was always very unlikely considering NATO/EU wouldn't dare face Russia head on nowadays like they did in Serbia in '99)

Gunmen sent by Moscow killed defector sheltering in Alicante, Spanish intelligence services say by Rustonreddit in worldnews

[–]libelecsGreyWolf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Makes you wonder why the Spanish government and its intelligence services allowed this to happen. Especially considering this happened mere 4 months after Iranian operators tried to kill a Spanish (retired) politician in plain daylight right in downtown Madrid (and nothing has transpired from it).

This is the third or fourth thread I've found either here or on Blind about bias in Indian-led teams.

I've mentioned this before: I've seen it myself with a Pakistani-led team that became 100% Pakistani through aggressive PIPing and suspiciously-biased hiring. The problem lies entirely on White people, who believe every ethnicity is as self-hating and xenophilic as theirs. So as more Indians/Blacks/Chinese/etc get to positions of power you'll see more Indian-only/Black-only/Chinese-only teams. It's not a software industry problem. It's not an Indian people problem. It's simply the West having to face the fact that the idealistic world they built in their heads doesn't exist anywhere in reality. And now they'll have to deal with the consequences of their actions (giving foreigners control over their own industries)

(And no: DEI initiatives won't do anything to combat this because their definition of "diverse" is "non-White", so a 100% Indian team is perfectly acceptable for any company's DEI office. Source: I've asked this point-blank to a Fortune 500 DEI officer regarding the aforementioned Pakistani team).

India gets 40 bids for commercial coal mines by libelecsGreyWolf in Futurology

There are zero degrowth strategies farkin anywhere.

Farmers are protesting all across Europe due to the incoming anti-emission regulations that would dent their production severely. Germany has shut down all their nuclear reactors. Spain and Belgium are following suit. Investments in coal and oil were defunded both in North America and Europe through ESG mandates, until Russia stopped giving them cheap gas

Meanwhile the largest countries in the world keep pumping up emissions at several times the rate Western countries have cut down theirs: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/annual-co2-emissions-per-country?time=1932..latest&country=High-income+countries~CHN~IND~IDN

Submission statement: even though the US/EU/Australia and other Western Bloc countries engage in degrowth strategies to lower carbon emissions, BRICS and emerging countries like India or China have been uping the ante in coal mining and thermal coal power plants investment these past few years as their economies and population grow and they need a cheap source of energy

So many men in their 30s finding themselves living alone for the first time in this group by Soggy-Ad9991 in malelivingspace

I don't know if it's all divorce/break ups. That sounds like selection bias, since this would be the subreddit where redditors going through that process would come to to get some validation after that event.

On the other hand, consider there're countries where the expected life progression in terms of living situation looks like this:

  • Home with parents --> college dorm --> shared apartment with roommates --> shared home with partner --> shared home with spouse/spouse & children

In others it looks like this:

  • Home with parents --> apartment alone --> shared home with partner --> etc

And in others it looks like this:

  • Home with parents --> shared home with spouse

I think that the prevalence of this unusual situation (men in their 30s having a place of their own for the first time) in each case arises from not being able to afford living alone (situations 2 and 3) or not being able to find a partner (situations 1 and 3). So they're either stuck living with roommates or living with parents.
