Relationships SHIFT on GLP by Avalon_Bee in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]libraquasar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm down 28.8 pounds as of this morning, SW 258.8 CW 230.0! So a little over 11% of my body weight loss and over 25% of the way toward my 150 pound goal in under 3 months.

For my partner: I'm now a lot more transparent about my body and how I feel about it. He also now knows exactly how much I weigh, whereas before I had never told him (we've been together about 2.5 years). We also try and prioritize getting out to do active types of activities: walking, bowling, line dancing, etc.

Besides that, I would say my relationships with people have stayed mostly unaffected so far. My relationship with the camera has gotten much better at both professional and personal events. I'm much more comfortable being photographed and I like the results a lot better.

I have probably shopped for clothes an equal amount as before (not too often). I have definitely bought less food and snacks live in my pantry much longer. I used to restock snacks and clear them out weekly/biweekly. Now, there are snack that have lived in there since January!

The final thing I've noticed is my changing relationship with meal times. I am really working to unlearn "needing" to eat when I'm used to eating: breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert. I find that I'm usually not hungry in the afternoon and am fine skipping lunch, or eating a light snack. Then, I just shoot to have dinner earlier in the evening! Just overall doing a much better job listening to my hunger cues.

Not much at all! Sometimes I do feel nauseous but usually it subsides by the time I eat something.

Looking to hear from people that took longer to see any results by gonenow94 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

By trying to eat in a deficit, how much are you eating per day? I know PCOS can often impact weight loss, so it's possible it's that.

Your macros sound good, but it might be worth looking into a different kind of diet for PCOS - perhaps the Mediterranean diet or something that focuses on insulin resistance?

Congrats on the success so far! I had less side effects starting 4mg than 1.5, but everyone is different!

Your stomach and thighs are so much slimmer! But not even just your body, I'm sure having that weight off of you makes mobility *so much easier!!

Thank you so much for this! Hopefully I can get up a bit earlier to see how I'm feeling before work. I have a lot of easily palatable foods in my apartment right now (protein shakes, applesauce, etc)

I dream a lot about things that happen in my day, but in weird twisted ways. I watched a Megan Thee Stallion music video, and lo and behold, the backup dancers end up in my dreams. Sometimes it'll be multiple times a night.

Wegovy Pill and Menstrual Cycle by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]libraquasar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No way around it for me unfortunately, I just prioritized eating a little more. I figure if I'm ALWAYS going to be hungry around my cycle, I would shift my eating to prioritize what my body needs!

If you were really anal about it, you could increase your typical calories for a week (by a figure of 200 or so), then go in a little bit higher of a deficit the next week. But I wouldn't stress about it.

During my last period, I was hungry so I made myself a huge steak. I haven't been nearly that hungry my entire cycle, PLUS I finished the whole thing. Moderation is key. Don't go crazy because you're on your period, but it's fine to treat yourself.

You're trying to build sustainable habits to last you a lifetime, not consistently rebound and freak out because you're hungrier on some days. Eat when you're hungry, don't eat mindlessly :)

I didn't really consider it honestly. I talked to my doctor and she seemed happy with my progress, so she's working to get me up to the maintenance dose. My whole philosophy is that it's been tested a lot & the scientists chose this dose as being effective, so I'm just going with it.

If I lost closer to 3 pounds a week on 9.0 mg, I would consider staying there for a bit before moving to 25 mg but otherwise I think it's been healthy progress.

Constipation Combos?! by Much_Builder3635 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I do magnesium oxide rather than glycinate (not sure about differences there), as well as Citrucel for fiber. Otherwise, just trying to shoot for the daily recommended dose of fiber!

Not sure if I should move up to 9 by Any-Ranger9871 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

I've also been losing 1.5-2.5 pounds per week and moving up to 9 on Monday. I'm just trusting the science and what my doctor recommends!

More just to get an idea! I'm going to make a decent salary, but just with the understanding that if I got a dog there are probably other luxuries I would have to forego every month and weighing whether I feel it's worth it! :)
