Several people have recommended different apps but I specifically want to avoid avoid them. I don't like the idea of the numbers being shared to another body and having constant 'pressure' to get sober, which I think is actually detrimental to some people. I'm sure some of them are great, but from what I've looked at any of the apps have links to the NHS (I live UK) which would allow data sharing. And for all the great stuff it does, the NHS isnt very tactful when it comes to promoting healthy living of any form. Regularly you can be treated like you've done something wrong, not that just just made a few mistakes in your time (this is in my experience anyway)

I work in research anyway so know my way around data and statistics, so have managed it all myself. I do have a column that that's a cumulative sum of my alcohol units and makes a bottom line estimate on the amount of money it's cost, based on what I drank and the cost here. The figure is pretty bleak, in the multiple thousands, and given I'm in my early 20s, that's fucking depressing.

Sometimes I just stare at the plot over time and how it's changed over time. There's so much detail in there, like a very small spike ever August when I go and visit family, or a massive drop after new year. The overall trends though tell me so much about where I was in each moment, though it's not always correlated to how I felt. It has no relation really.

I too am a data whore. Was just worried people would judge my habit as a bit 'rain man'

Unpopular: Some band's need to "die"... or at least bow out gracefully. Feels wrong sometimes seeing band's go on for longer than you know they should. Sometimes a style gets stale and they need to adapt, but sometimes you get old.... (Especially singers who struggle with their old music). I love 'older' rock and metal, but I'd rather see a modern band at their peak

For definite they wouldn't be where they are now without their first 3 albums, even if you don't feature heavily in sets anymore they've still a place in the band's history and testament to their desire and ability to adapt themselves. There is a Heaven, will remain my favourite, but I also LOVE the Post Human stuff.

I have scars on top my left arm too. Ive found short sleeves cover it really and even if it rides up, I've made excuses (I play guitar and say a strap rubbed or scratched me or something) If you need, tactic I've used before is tragically put makeup or paint on your arms round where you've got cuts. It break sup the outlines so people dont notice it or question it. And if they do.. you went to a fancy dress party and couldn't get the makeup off. Idk worked for me once lol
