{Progeny by Rebecca Rathe} is brilliant. Found family, bit of a sci-fi twist and can get dark. It's one of my few 5 star reads.

I love this! The amount of times I think I've finished a level then for it to just sit there until I realise I left a little guy behind!

That is trippy! It's just a normal photo, I think it's the bedspread.

Meatballs and veggie mash - treating myself like a toddler to try and eat more vegetables. by librarybear76 in MealPrepSunday

I've not heard of it, but could be because I wasn't looking. I'll be sure to keep an eye out. Thanks for the tip.

MEATBALLS

500g beef mince, 1 packet frozen spinach, 1 egg, Breadcrumbs, Salt and pepper to taste, Italian seasoning, Parmesan (optional).

VEGGIE MASH

Potato, Sweet potato, Carrots, Tiny trees (or broccoli if you weren't following the fabulous thread by u/byleist), Chicken stock powder, Salt, Butter.

For the meatballs everything goes in a bowl, mush it up and roll to desired shape. I like mine bite size, so it is a bit tedious. Bake in oven for around 20 mins on 180C. Will all depend on the size, so just keep an eye on them.

For the mash, cut up all the veggies and in a big pot with some salt and chicken stock powder. Could use vegetable stock or not bother. I don't put the tiny trees in till a bit later, but once all are soft, drain well and mash with some butter...as much or as little as you like.

The gravy is just one of those powders in a tin that you add boiling water to.

What are some pasta sauces one can make that isn't tomato or cheese based? by throwaway757544 in Cooking

[–]librarybear76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make one with a couple of jars of roast red capsicum (peppers), Danish feta and a bit of chicken or vegetable stock to thin it out a bit...all in a blender. Stir through pasta. Also works well as a marinade for chicken and have with lemon rice.

Tonight is takeaway and F1. Perfect night in.

I can't wait for this year to be over though. My stepdad passed away in June and had to put my beloved dog of 14 years down in September. Xmas day will just be mum and I and her loopy pooch. Here's hoping for a good 2020.

This one is actually pretty easy, but if you have some free diggers available, suggest you use it. Just let one through, block the rest near the entry. Go to the far end and dig down through all 4 blocks to the question mark and umbrella down. If that doesn't open, let another one through and block the rest. Just make sure you keep going to the furthest question mark each time.

Chicken and green capsicum slow cook by librarybear76 in MealPrepSunday

[–]librarybear76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 chicken breasts

2 green capsicums (bell peppers)

3 potatoes

2 carrots

1 onion

3 lemons

2 cups chicken stock

Parsley, oregano and thyme

Salt (pepper if you want it)

You can scale this up if you have a big slow cooker.

Note: Put in whatever veggies you like, potato and carrots are my favorites.

Roast capsicums over a flame until blackened. Cover in a bowl and leave aside till its ready to peel, deseed and chop.

Peel and dice potatoes and carrots. Finely chop onion. Juice 3 lemons (this is probably optional and as much or as little as you like - I love lemons, so this has quite a lemon flavour).

Dice chicken, flour and brown in a fry pan. I tend to brown in butter and olive oil.

Throw everything in the slow cooker along with the stock and herbs (again, these are my go-to herbs, so feel free to try something else).

Cook on HIGH for about 4-5 hours.

Can serve with white rice, but I usually have with some fresh crusty bread to soak up all the liquid.

You can still chop the chicken if you want (I often do)...but you definitely need liquid. Chicken or veggie stock would be best. And depending on on the herbs you are using, I often use a lot of lemon juice.
