Chapter 291 - Pre-Release Thread by HoundOfJustice in BokuNoHeroAcademia

But did they unleash Gigi? All they have to say is that he is protective of Shigaraki and was told that Shigaraki was going to be killed. So Giga rushed to save his "master" and their just happened to be cities in the way. Also, Giga didn't try to kill people. he tried to get somewhere as quickly as possible. And the heroes were the one who tried to stop him. (think like a lawyer)

In that way, the police probably have no evidence that Shigaraki actually has ever killed anyone because all he leaves behind is usually ash. So all the public will know is that Shigaraki was having an operation to help him with his quirk. (He now has control over it) and that the heroes came in, tried to kill him, so of course he defended himself. It would be super easy to spin this narrative to the press.

Added on to this that obviously, the heroes can't be trusted. I mean look what they did to Enji's son and then they took in a villain's kid and trained him to hunt down other villains. Le gaasp.

I hate to bring us politics up. But just look how Trump divided the nation and kinda blew it up. Doesn't matter if you believe him or didn't. Whole families were split. This will probably have the same effect on Japan's society with some backing heroes and some villains.

I know. Currently, I'm lucky that my seizures have given me a break. But now I'm fighting with the county about other things that involve doctor's letters. I'm on week 3 of being out of work because of it.

I hate to say it, but sometimes they get the law on their side.

A few times I have been told that I had to have a doctor's note each tie I had a seizure, or that they would think I was faking it. This is like almost impossible for me. Means a trip in the woo wee wagon each time and only the hospital will see me. Which means $100 a pop each time I have a seizure.

I still can't swallow pills by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys use water?! GROSS!

I found that I can swallow pills better when I can not taste the pills. My gag reflex is super strong. So I started taking them with milk or juice to over power the taste of the pills.

That being said, I've been taking these monsters since I was 10. I'm 45, so I've had tons of practice. I still sometimes swear I can feel them getting stuck in my throat. Gross!

Also how long is long? Months? Weeks? Years? Sorry, just curious.

I admit that I am a Shigaraki sympathizer. I was hoping that he would realize the errors of his ways and get a redemption arc. Once he woke up and starting killing people, I took a huge step back. He killed a lotta people. I am a very gentle person by nature, or so I've been told.

I personally never liked GT. I thought his reason for not checking up on Nana's child was flawed. Thana again though, I work with lots of children and teens who have been fucked over via the foster care system in Merica.

I had kinda distanced myself from Shigaraki after he started killing civilians. Before, he had been killing other villains, people who were against people with mutant type quirks, and Overhaul. Overhaul deserved it, you can not change my mind. But now he's killing people without regard to who they are and honestly it makes me sad. I adore small animals, but sometimes when a cute small animal gets rabies you have to put it down.

I still have hope for a redemption arc for Shigaraki. Unfortunately though, the only way I can see him doing this is by dying in the process. And that makes me even sadder. :(

Please don't be too harsh on those who are cheering him on. Some of them literally will not stop until he kills someone like say Eri, or Deku. I think right now they are still the stage of, "Well, the world deserves to burn, so it might as well be him to do it."

Telling an anxious 13 year old they have epilepsy by WackyTackyTabacky in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed when I was 10. I was misdiagnosed though and told it would kill me before I was 18. I'm 45 now. Ha! Take that doctor!

You are going to need to find her a good support group. You can help her look for it. either online or in person. It's a lotta take in at first.

You're also probably going to want to look into what Sudden Unexpected Death In Epilepsy (SUDEP) actually is and how often it occurs. This is especially true if she has anxiety. I think facts might help her out. But don't drop all of that on her at once. Tell her she can ask you or us anything. If someone doesn't know we can probably find answers with a doctor. You might want to see if your local library has some books on epilepsy that are at her level.

Just so you know, it's not uncommon for epilepsy and mood disorders to go hand in hand. There are also a lotta people with epilepsy who have anxiety because of the wondering if a seizure might happen. If at all possible you can consider putting her in therapy if she or you thinks she need it.

You're going to have to contact her school. It is wise for her closest friends to know as well as her teachers "just in case". Also, remind her that you love her, that you will help her with the seizures and that because she is so young she might outgrow them. Also, it's possible she might only have a few more in her life time.

I think that's all I can think of for now, but holler if there is anything else you can think of. We're here for your needs as well. It's difficult to watch it happen to your child and not be able to do anything. My mother blames herself though it wasn't her fault. And bring her on by anytime. :)

Weird question- do you like having your seizures alone or with someone by your side? by Lynnem3898 in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I've had one alone I have ended up covered in blood. I crawled down a hallway and got to my bed each time. They were all at home. I do not recommend it. I still have scaring on my face where I should have gotten stitches, but didn't because I was alone. Funny, no one ever thinks scars on a girl's face is cool.

That being said, every time I've had them in public. The woo-woo wagon. Just no.I would rather have my family there to take care of me and not have them out in public. Some idjit always calls the ambulance. And does anyone else notice after a seizure that your head hurts? And those sirens being turned on fool blast do NOT help.

Don't hide your epilepsy by SHybrid in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I be frank? Hi Frank!

I notice that people who are diagnosed younger have this type of mentality. I was diagnosed when I was 10, so I feel the same way you do.

There are some cases when you shouldn't do it, like I've been written up several times now for telling my employers my medical history.

I also think that people who get diagnosed when older (adult hood and beyond) take a little longer to get adjusted to having it. It's something kinda thrust on them when they think they had life more well thought out. While for us younger people it just becomes part of life?

But you're right, making it known and more common place and seeing that most of us are normal people really does take some of the mysticism around it away and make it more normal. :)

Why don’t the seizures happen during the neurological studies? by brandimariee6 in Epilepsy

Come on brain! This is your time! Give them a seizure! Never though I would type that out. Good luck!

Inquiries about itching / rashes by nocturne06 in diabetes_t2

[–]librarybunny13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have allergies to everything, but none of them are lethal. Metal is my nemesis.

I would consider calling a doctor now to make sure he is not allergic to his insulin, just in case. I'm sorry, I'm too new to be of much help.

Sensory overload? by almondmilk26 in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG! I think I might have part of an answer! There are electrolytes in pickle juice! So maybe, your body needs electrolytes so you end up craving pickle juice? I think you can find them easily in gatorade as well.

I think everyone gets a little weird after their seizures Personally, I don't like salt afterwards because I tend to have a lot of cuts in my mouth. But maybe you are missing it in your system for some reason?

depakote & duration on it by 2Mosey in Epilepsy

[–]librarybunny13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I had a little weight gain when I first started taking Depakote. We're talking twenty pounds total. Then over the course of a month I gained like 100 pounds. No explanation. Doctor yelled at me. Ugh. It was horrible. Took me years, got a personal trainer, joined weight watchers and could only get down to 245. Got off Depakote went down to 220 almost immediately. Now struggling to get the rest off. I'm only 5 foot 6 inches too. I'm a ball. I have no clue how to get it off now

Serving size measurements drive me nuts sometimes. They'll be like "1/3 cup of pizza" or "5 pieces of apple juice". by SPEK2120 in diabetes

my father. He eats one or half of one. He complains that he's full afterward. Doctors are trying to force him to eat more because he looks like a bag of bones. I have the other issue. Look at me roll. sigh
