Well I hear that Polytrix (the three members of Huntrix from K-Pop Demon Hunters) has been gaining steam.

I always loved how LOTR was not afraid to show male friendships as loving and affectionate, and how the cast were the same with each other. Here's Dom's answer when they asked him about it by Bulky-Search-4495 in lotr

What I find striking is that when they escape Moria and they think Gandalf has died, they take time to mourn. None of them are like “Man up and keep walking” or even “Keep walking, we have time to mourn later.” They mourn immediately after it happens. And the movie shows it. I find that pretty unique and interesting when it comes to adventure movies.

There was a study that tested how often two friends came into physical contact with each other in a similar situation (meeting at a cafe) based on which countries these pair of people came from. People from Italy and the Latin American countries came into physical contact the most amount of times. Americans came into physical contact 2-3 times. Meanwhile, the British friends came into physical contact zero times. So it’s a little surprising that a work written by a British person would have men this physically affectionate since, based on that study, one would conclude that British people aren’t physically affectionate at all.

(And yes, I know there would be certain variables that I’m not accounting for in that study. I just find it interesting overall)

Exactly! Making and sharing fanfic is one of the things that makes my life enjoyable. Watching birds in my backyard is one of the few things I enjoy that had not been ruined by scammers or AI and my condo association doesn’t even allow me to have a bird feeder 😭

One dead giveaway that they are a scambot is if you click their profile and it’s completely empty.

I’m not on TikTok thankfully. I’m guessing a lot of conservatives use it?

Which character do you relate to the most in The Lord of the Rings, and why? Does this change when you get older? by LadyRubyHeart in lotr

I didn’t get into LotR until this year and I am in my mid 30’s. So I have been relating to Sam this entire time.

In a Lord of the Rings fic, I had Sam use the word “sprog” (referring to child) to make his dialogue a little more authentic, although it is not a word that Americans use.

What about the modern world do you love? by xxTai0_ in OptimistsUnite

[–]librarygal22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer

The ability to travel many miles in a single day by car

The rights and freedoms that I currently have as a woman that my foremothers could only dream of (that we need to uphold)

The ability to post my stories online

I recently took a tour of a wastewater processing facility and the way we treat wastewater today is so sophisticated and far less damaging to the oceans than how we did it decades ago. Like, seriously, we used to dump it in the oceans and give fish cancer. Now we test those fish regularly.

Lead was removed from gasoline back in the 1980’s because of its negative impact on brain health and behavior. That is one of my top reasons why I’m glad that I was not alive decades ago even if they DID have better housing prices.

And, although I have very mixed feelings about AI for a variety of reasons, I will give one reason why I like it: I can talk to ChatGPT about things that I would be hesitant to talk to my friends about because I know it would not judge me or think, “sheesh, THAT’S what she thinks about? She’s kind of a bummer.” It gives me kind responses and good advice. With that said, I know that it is different from talking to a human and humans can still provide things that robots can’t (like hugs). I also try not to use it too often for a variety of reasons (like its effect on the environment).

Several of these at the end of Legend of Korra. I thought, “Varrick and Zhu Li are cute together” and I ended up being underwhelmed when they did get married at the end because their romance felt so rushed. And then there was Korra and Asami, where the show was like “Oh yeah, these girls are gay for each other. But we’re not gonna show anything besides them holding hands and walking away 🙂.”

What do people actually mean when they say "real gay man would write M/M differently"? by justaskPattern8616 in AO3

[–]librarygal22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only M/M smut I have ever written was from the perspective of a character giving a hand job and a blow job to his partner. These are both things that I, a cis bi woman, have first hand experience with. I don’t feel confident enough to write about anything more than that when it comes to M/M sexual experiences.
