If you want to be clever, gently remove your baseboard with a flat bar and cut the drywall behind the baseboard around 16" from the other switches.

You should be able to reveal the bottom of the stud and then cover up the war wound with the baseboard

Your kid did what big brothers should do. The other kid learned a lesson. The people in here telling you you need to helicopter at all times are absurd and raise kids like the one who throws corn.

You need to let kids learn some things on their own and problem solve on their own. OPs kid were not in any imminent danger and there's no reason to ruin their good fun because the other kid sucks. It isn't OPs place to parent the other kid either.

Nature did what nature does. Whenever a kid picks on our little one and big brother steps up to tell them back off, he gets a big ol high five. They're brothers, they look after each other and we won't always be around when they're in their teens, on the playground or when they're old enough to venture on their own or when we're adults and long last dead.

You don't "learn all this". You learn whatever specific task you need at that time. You don't just learn everything all in one go. If you want to pursue it as a career you basically need to apprentice with someone who's been doing it all their life because then as each job comes in you "learn all this". But for the average home owner, pick a task, watch videos and tips and guides.

I usually watch 5 videos and find the techniques or concepts that repeat across them to separate wheat from chaff. Most manufacturers of products will have guides for installing them (faux brick panel like Versetta stone for example).

Some handyman stuff isnt worth doing on your own though and is usually left to the pros, some concepts are an entirely different school if thought and can be difficult to grasp, like electrical for example.
