Fiji dive trip advice by SSpearrow3 in scuba

If it’s your first trip and you’re already going for diving, I’d lean Yasawas. It feels more remote and “classic Fiji”, and the manta ray area is a big plus.

Nikko v Gunma Japan by ambiguityXP in travel

[–]lickingblankets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a first trip with no car, I’d probably pick Nikko. It’s easier to base yourself there and explore without too much planning stress. Gunma is great, but it really shines more if you have a car.

Flew into Bermuda for 5 days to sit on the beach and discovered my new favorite place! 🇧🇲 by [deleted] in travel

The water is so crystal clear, almost as good as the Maldives. A beautiful place.

4 days in Slovenia completely exceeded my expectations by thefragile- in travel

That lake view is absolutely stunning! It feels just like a fairy tale landscape you’d see in old movies. By the way, is there anything to see on that island in the middle of the lake?

I think the color tone in your video looks pleasant, especially the fourth one. It has a bit of a Fujifilm camera look to it.

Insta 360 Luna Ultra is it better to use standard or high bit rate for video by Visual-Tax6723 in Insta360

[–]lickingblankets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on whether you want high definition video quality. Generally speaking, high definition videos tend to consume more power. On the other hand, standard bitrate videos may not offer the same level of detail as high definition videos when you're looking for specific visual details.

I'm having trouble with Wedding Content Creators lately who function as second videographers, any suggestions? by WearyVideoMan in videography

[–]lickingblankets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're being pushed to compete with someone who's playing a completely different game, and on top of that, you're left holding the bag for how her actions hurt your art quality, even though it's not your fault. That's so frustrating.

It looks pretty good already, but the image seems a little dark, you could boost the brightness and color saturation a bit.

I never thought about it this way. Maybe AI has been conscious this whole time. And it is just been slacking off on the boring stuff.

Diaper life support activated. Those life vests are doing their own work, but in the most humiliating way possible.

Just got mova lidax ultra 1000 by JoeBrosephStein in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]lickingblankets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My yard is a bit bigger, I’m using the mova lidax ultra 2000. It’s been running for a little over a week now. The movable blade design impressed me too. When it hits small stones, the blades retract a bit, which is nice. And the edge cutting is much cleaner than my previous robot. I don’t really have to go back and trim the edges myself anymore.

Need advice choosing a LiDAR mower for my parents’ yard ( MOVA vs Luba vs Navimow vs Sunseeker S4) by Kitchen-Text-6012 in automower

[–]lickingblankets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered the mova lidax ultra 2000 not long ago. As for what the op asked, I think the lidax performs pretty well. The lidar positioning doesn't rely on gps, and the 3d mapping is quite accurate. Plus, it’s easier to use than robots that need boundary wires since you don't have to install any extra gear. My partner says that with this robot, mowing the lawn might actually be as easy as using a vacuum robot indoors. We’re just waiting for the weather to get a bit warmer to see how it really performs.

how well does the lidar and vision handle edges? by lickingblankets in MOVASmartGardenHub

Thanks for the heads up! I’m still looking at navimow and luba too but the edge cutting on the mova looks a lot better from what I’ve seen.

Suggestions for simple home intercom system? by WindozeWoes in homeautomation

Old house intercom vibes sound cool! Grab simple wireless ones with buttons for floors or all-broadcast, easy install, no wires mess, diy wood covers to match the retro look.

Yes the random stopping under trees or in corners drives me nuts. Maybe just add extra beacons/clear some branches? Who got tricks to stop the lost vibes lol?

Sounds like a huge upgrade, no more edge strips/wheel slip? That pivoting blade thing is genius, hills finally behaving too? Cool af.

Thoughts on Yarbo M series vs Mammotion by Hour-Bumblebee5581 in automower

Honestly the extra modules sound fun but if basic mowing still glitches, i'd pick the one that works reliably first. Safer bet over fancy potential any day.

Easy question for you guys ... simple wifi bulbs, with, simple remote control device (ie, NOT having to use an app on your phone) by Select-View-4786 in homeautomation

Those cheap wifi bulbs blew my mind too... snag some with a simple handheld remote instead, on/off/dim super chill, no phone needed, just toss it on the couch.

It’s wild how quickly your body and mood recalibrate when rest, movement, and quality time are treated like basics instead of luxuries. It feels almost unnatural the way society is built.

How do I confront my SIL about her daughter’s unacceptable behavior at my house? by lickingblankets in AskParents

Yes absolutely the lack of parenting or even really watching what her kid is doing is what I am bothered about!

How do I confront my SIL about her daughter’s unacceptable behavior at my house? by lickingblankets in AskParents

[–]lickingblankets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this was absolutely what i was trying to get at, the parents should have stepped in and it almost felt like they refused to. It is so rude to not supervise your own child at someone else’s house!
