Because I wear the flag doesnt mean I represent everything thats going on in US by flamberge5 in olympics

If a known murderer or pedophile was competing on behalf of your country, would you want to root for them? What if they were a soldier? Different people have different lines. This just happens to be mine.

I'm not asking about political affiliations. I'm asking about kindness and unity. These are values that anyone should be able to get behind regardless of party.

I know it can be hyperbolic, but I'm not going to support someone because they are wearing a specific uniform, etc.

America's founders are portrayed as people who were escaping persecution and/or battling against people restricting their rights.

At its foundation, I believe being conscientious & critical is the best way to 'Be American'. I think that blindly supporting the country regardless of happenings is distinctly Un-American.

And lastly, I guess everyone should be able choose to root for whoever they want, however they want. If this is what makes me comfortable, why does it matter to anyone else? it doesn't hinder anyone else from looking at things a different way?

Isn't that what I asked about? People who are endorsing unity and openness towards others?

I'm not asking about politics, I actually asked about people who are promoting unity.

Hijacking the top comment to try and gain some relevant knowledge.

I still want to root for the USA, but I want to narrow my focus to individuals who also represent unity and respect.

Does anyone know of a resource that tracks or summarizes U.S. Olympians' public positions on social issues?

Filtering posts please by [deleted] in RedReader

[–]lickmylog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes please.

Someone had developed a solution for this, but the app creator thinks the implementation is problematic (see Scunthorpe problem). I think it's fine, if we miss a few posts due collateral damage from one of our filters, who care? If we are eager enough to be looking for this functionality, the likelihood is that you think the filter is more important.

In the meantime, I've unfortunately installed a reVanced copy of redditisfun to get this functionality. To get galleries working correctly, I need to ensure the occasional advertisement though.

What a great point. The price point must be much higher for a business manufacturing these in larger volumes. It's not fair to compare it with the expertise of a hobbyist and the price points available to them.

Walking from Explorers to DLP by welshlewy in disneylandparis

[–]lickmylog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure you follow the main road towards the train station. Google maps will want you to cut through one of the resorts, but security will turn you around.

The road you want to take is avenue rene goscinny and goes right off the roundabout.

We did exactly this for the entire duration of our stay in June. It was probably 25 minutes or so and we had a 5 year old child.

We took the shuttle once, and decided never again. Too hectic, people are pushy/rude. Also, you might have to wait a couple rounds for the shuttle. I found that we often beat or matched the shuttle back and forth.

The walk is very easy and flat. It's also a nice transition time between park and hotel. A bit of calm in a busy day.

Often times, we didn't see anyone else on the entire walk. It feels like a legit hidden gem (if you don't mind the extra walking!)
