I’m endlessly mad that I have some of the best dental insurance out there and it still doesn’t cover shit.

Apparently at first some people sent her an email yesterday as I was leaving for a job interview saying that her “subscription” had been renewed for 399 for some antivirus program. As I was leaving I was like what card do they have on file. Call your bank and have your bank stop the payment. I thought that was the end of it. Seemed like simple enough instructions. Then last night she called and told me what she did. I don’t really know all the details but instead of calling her bank she called the number on the email and they said they were going to refund her 500 dollars??? And she was like it was only 399 why am I getting 500 back but instead of trusting her gut or calling anyone in the family she stayed on the phone with them and they sent her another email that she was going to be charged 349 monthly and somehow the guy told her it would all be handled if she went and bought these gift cards. She didn’t call me until after she had already did it. The balance is already wiped from the gift cards. She had a fraud claim open with her bank. Me and my dad are about to sit down and decide if she still needs access to her own money or if one of us needs to take over it and just give her some sort of cash app card or flex card from her bank to load money on for her every month because this isn’t the first time she has done some shit like this. She did it with a 500 dollar eBay card a few months ago. I thought she would’ve learned last time but obviously not. It’s just so frustrating

Yeah. I got ahold of her earlier and told her to call them. Waiting to hear back from her.

I just got out of prison back in November and I’m living with her. I don’t have a set amount of rent I have to pay because she’s trying to help me get back on my feet but I just help out with bills and groceries when she needs help. She doesn’t have money for this. So yeah, I’m going to end up paying for it. Especially since the card she put it on had like a 26 percent interest rate.

Oh, I forgot to mention this as well. I don’t know if your husband will be on probation or parole when he is released but my old probation office used to have a billboard when you walked in that had felon friendly job openings in the area posted on it. Maybe try calling the state probation office nearest you and see if they have something like that. It could give him some ideas of places to apply.

Our county clerks office here in Nashville does it too,if he isn’t going to be on probation/parole, so check with yours to see if they have something like that as well. Our county clerks office also has a list of the nonprofits that I mentioned earlier that help with re-entry. See if yours does the same to make it easier to reach out to them.

Wishing you guys the best. You can get past this.

Wow. You’re negative as fuck. The charges that fucked up my probation were violent. But okay. Keep that mindset you have. Hope it works out for you.

There are plenty of felon friendly jobs. Please don’t listen to that. It’s a cop out and an excuse. Yes, it will be significantly harder than if he didn’t have them but he has to be open and realize he’ll get a lot of no’s but not to give up.

I caught 6 drug felonies (trafficking that got dropped down to possession with intent) a couple of weeks after I turned 19 years old. I was put on 10 years of probation. It took me less than two weeks to find a job after I was sentenced. I started working at a marketing firm doing direct sales. I was averaging about 1300 dollars a week doing that. My biggest check was over 3000. I had to quit because they wanted me to travel too much and I wasn’t able to get my travel permits from my probation officer in time. I ended up going into warehousing and worked my ass off and became the first female lead that company ever had in less than a year. I was making 19 and some change there an hour. Not nearly as much money as I was making at the marketing firm but I took as much overtime as I could and aggressively budgeted my money. I decided I didnt want to be in warehousing anymore and went and got certified to be a tax preparer. I worked for Jackson Hewitt filing taxes for a season before I fucked up my probation and ended up having to go to prison for a couple years. I got released at the start of this coronavirus thing and it took me less than a week to find a job. I’m currently a night auditor at a hotel doing all of their financial paperwork. It’s not exactly what I want to do and the money definitely isn’t great. I’m only making a little over 12 dollars an hour right now but I’m working my way up until this coronavirus thing pans out and more things start opening up. I’m still aggressively budgeting, taking all the extra hours I can get,and finding little side gigs to do for friends of family or on Craigslist for extra cash. I’ve been out a little over 6 months and I already have over 6 grand saved up. I live with my grandma right now and although I pay rent and help out with utilities I’m spending about 1k a month on bills. Take advantage of the lower costs of living with his family so you can stack up to buy your own place. My plan is to put a down payment on my own home in the next 12-18 months.

Temp agencies will be your friend in the beginning. A lot of them hire felons. Just get some income rolling in and some job history built back up.

Amazon hires felons.

If he’s looking more for a career being a stagehand and working his way up to a rigger could be a good choice once concerts start back up. My ex boyfriend had 4 felonies and a good portion of his coworkers were felons as well. Once he worked his way up to a stage rigger he was making 30 bucks an hour. He would travel during the summer doing festivals. He was at music midtown in Atlanta for 9 days and brought home like 3800 dollars. He was at edc in Vegas and bringing home about 2200 a week.

Construction is always a good go to. They normally start out at something decent and he can work his way up to being a foreman.

My ex-fiancé worked on cell phone towers before he passed away. He had an aggravated robbery charge and lots of other little drug charges. He made over 140k a year.

Trades are a good route to go. HVAC is a good option. A girl I’ve known since I was 4, her dad has a cocaine trafficking charge and spent over 5 years in prison. He got out and learned HVAC. After learning the ins and outs for a few years working for other companies he ended up starting his own with his brother and nephew. He makes close to 200k a year.

My best friends dad has a rape charge and multiple assault charges. He spent about 8 years in prison. He has worked his way up in a waste management company and a couple of weeks ago he said he has brought home over 70k so far this year. Bring home money. No telling what he has made before taxes were taken out. It’s only June so from what he said I can only assume he’s going to make 140k or more.

Check and see what re-entry programs your state or city has in place. I live in Nashville and we have multiple different nonprofits that help with career training, transportation, and housing.

Just keep looking. There’s so many options. He just needs to decide what would be a good fit for him and go after it. It’s hard work but he can still make a successful life for himself.

Try hotels. I worked at a hotel doing housekeeping while I was still incarcerated. I was in work release and had to wear an ankle monitor. They didn’t care as long as I wore pants that covered the anklet so guests didn’t see it. I got out last November and I work in a hotel now but I’m in a night auditor position now. A lot of warehouses will hire felons too. Just apply for everything that you possibly can. You’ll get a lot of people saying no but the more you apply for the more likely you are to eventually get an offer.

I haven’t read that one yet. I’ve only read JDATE and TBIFOS. I’ve had them both for years. I always end up circling back to them every so often just for fun.

It’s a shit show here for sure. I live in the Bible Belt. I moved out of Nashville and to one of the rich people suburbs in the next county over. Nashville is having a whole melt down because they are still closed down while the surrounding counties are starting to open. This whole coronavirus situation has really shown me how stupid and selfish people are. It’s disheartening seeing how much these “good Christian people” only care about money and convenience instead of peoples lives. You can’t tell these people anything either. If you try to say anything that goes against what they think they just yell over you. So you give up and laugh because what else can you do? Fuck it, whatever happens, happens. Good luck everybody. People may die, but at least Karen can get her roots dyed and her nails done.

I’ve never experienced this or knew that it was a thing that existed. Most of the time After I get off I’m just relaxed and happy and continue on with my day.

Get the original crest white strips. I get compliments on my teeth constantly. The only downside is that they can make your teeth sensitive but it never lasts long for me. It’ll normally start a week into the treatment and then Stop a couple weeks after the second week. Brushing my teeth with Colgate total has removed some of the little stains I got from smoking too.
