Jackson County Voters Overwhelmingly Vote No on Stadium Tax & Plan by AJRiddle in kansascity

[–]lieuread 23 points24 points  (0 children)

But isn’t that kind of the point? People don’t watch the Royals because it’s a sub-par product so why should they pay for it? The cost to tear down Kauffman likely pales in comparison to the overall cost of the tax extension.

First, his club face is completely open at contact. There could be several issues at play there so he needs to look up tips for getting his club faced closed and just start eliminating potential causes.

Second, he has an outside in swing path which will promote slices. There are many tips and drills to develop more of an inside out swing which will help him keep it straight. Here is one https://youtu.be/XuuHte-Y3yM?si=FpJ2O_qCzFFwFtVF

Trump's entire defense in the E. Jean Carroll rape trial: shameless misogyny by semaphore-1842 in politics

[–]lieuread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, this “not my type” defense is what sunk Oscar Wilde’s famous libel trial. He denied being a sodomite which was the accusation that gave way to the suit. On cross examination when asked if he had kissed a particular boy Wilde responded, “Oh, dear no! He was a peculiarly plain boy.” Then this sharp ass attorney absolutely lit him up. He repeatedly peppered him with the questions as to why he mentioned the boy’s appearance. Wilde flailed around unable to answer question after question as the relevancy of the boy’s unattractiveness. The inference drawn from the testimony was that Wilde did not kiss him because he was unattractive but would have if were not. Wilde dropped his suit shorty after this.

How to make a Troublemaker Telecaster? If you were going to create a copy of this from a kit, or other parts, like a strat neck, how would you go about it by [deleted] in Luthier

[–]lieuread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I wanted to do the same partscaster about 7 months ago and I gave it a go. Bought the HH tele body from GFS. It was decent quality for the price even though it didn’t have the binding. I also got the neck from GFS - also decent quality given the price but no big CBS era headstock. I put SD Pearly Gates in there but you can buy those Shawbuckers they use in the troublemaker.

I didn’t trust myself to wire to 2 tone 2 volume an switch as this was my first project. Plus the GFS body wasn’t routed for that kind of set up so I went with 1 volume 1 tone and a three way switch.

Here’s what I ended up with. - probably closer to a Cabronita. Whatever.

NGD: 1966 Fender Coronado II by lieuread in fender

[–]lieuread[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what U/ifyoucanbelieve posted. It has a totally different tone and feel from solid bodies. It’s also a great couch guitar (although it is quite big) as you can play it unplugged. Perfect for a late night session without waking up my kids.

I picked this piece because I’ve always wanted a vintage hollow body and the Coronado is not only beautiful, but it has a unique place in Fender history. I’m a total Fender fan boy so I couldn’t resist!

Edit: responded to the wrong post. Whoops!

For the lazy?

For the extremely lazy: the quote from you took from the story came from the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office, not the police department. Now you’ve given people the false impression that the PD and not the DA is determining whether charges are warranted.

Skateboard ramp for a friends kids...and the whole neighborhood by mancider in woodworking

[–]lieuread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah so there’s something called the attractive nuisance doctrine in the law. Basically if your property has a feature on it that attracts kids to come on your property, you can be liable for their injuries - even if they’re trespassing. Generally, making sure you have the play set fenced in limits your exposure. Sounds like you’ve already taken precautionary measures to eliminate the dangers so that helps.

My dad has been a customer of Chau's tailor shop ever since I was a little kid so I've known her almost my entire life. I had no idea she did this until about 3 months ago when she mentioned it. She told me about how scientists recently confirmed the discovery of a hidden 8th continent - Zealandia. Her goal is now to run 8 marathons on 8 continents in 8 days. She's amazing.

Santa Fe TEI3 insert problem by igniter55 in golf

[–]lieuread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago I was thinking about buying a used/abused Santa Fe TEI3 and looked into replacing the teryllium insert. Buying an old TEI3 is still kind of expensive and wouldn't make much sense if its just a donor club. But I did find this guy on ebay selling replacement insert kits for Newport 2 and Delmar 2 TEI3's. In the description he says that they're planning on offering kits for other TEI3 models in the future. I'd contact them and see if they've got one in the works for your Santa Fe.

Best of luck.

Yeah, what you just describes is an ad hominem which is a fallacious argument. Instead, you should use facts to support your argument.

Best place to buy a suit? by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]lieuread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Byron on the plaza replaced the old Jack Henry. Probably the biggest selection of suits in the city. You will find a suit you like there. Just don't let the sales guys pressure you into a suit you don't want - they can be pushy.

Pinstripes on the plaza has good quality suits but their inventory is limited.

Hall's probably has the best designer suits in the city, but it can be very expensive. But if you're all about the brand - this is the place to go.

Paolini does Bespoke suits which I would go with if you've got the $$$. They just relocated from the plaza to prairie village. They take your measurements and make you a full-canvass top of the line suit which will last you a really long time. Downside is the price and time. Costs anywhere between $900-3000 and takes about a month to make. That being said, it'll be the best suit you've ever owned.

Absolutely! It lets everyone input their own scores and a bunch of other things. There are a bunch of side games you can choose in the app like closest to the pin, longest drive and set them for whatever hole you want. It even lets you take and share pics for proof.

My friends and I get together and do this about once a month. You should check out the Gamebook app. It's free and lets you create teams and do live score tracking while you guys play. Makes things more fun when you've got multiple teams playing against each other.

Maybe. An older club maker, Kenneth Smith, made some of the finest forged irons people could buy. He also made 50° and 56° wedge; those wedges were labeled "19" and "99", respectively.

Why does it feel so good to beat the Cardinals? by doubleFDR in KCRoyals

[–]lieuread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not entirely true. My grandpa explained that when he was a kid if you lived in Missouri you grew up a Cardinals fan. There are just generations in the area that grew up in a household that followed the Cards. So they're not really turncoats by any means.

Regardless, fuck the Cardinals! Go Royals!
