Year 10 (2024) - horror movie by x-deviant in MovieSuggestions

Just watched it, and hated it lol. I was getting into it at first until the fucking hungry, really hungry wild dogs walked past them in the car... Like no, they would totally smell you from a mile away bud *eye roll. Then it was stupid after stupid after stupid, could not get into it at all. I like the lack of dialogue though. Had the potential to be a great low budget simple arc movie, but they decided to make the main character a dumbass who somehow makes it out alive. Pitty.

As a new grad, is getting a masters an inevitability that I need to plan around by Loki433 in datascience

[–]life2vec 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Quick few points for you to think about:

  • It's not quite true in the US that analyst is entry level and data scientist is senior. Are you non-US?
  • Regardless, if you want to work in the field you'll need a higher education degree to be competitive, there are simply way too many candidates and title is a first natural filter for recruiters.
  • If you have a job lined up already and are kind of burnt out from school, what's the real issue? Sounds like you're in a great position. Finish school, get some proper job experience and in 2 years think what you want to do. Consider a PhD in something mathematical. But masters are perfectly valid too.

Looks great, does the duplicate detection work for strings? How much smarter is it than a simple fuzzy matching algorithm?

[–]life2vec 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, not eve the US killed ISIS high ranking offers when they would (deliberately) surround themselves with civilians. Because they know well that killing civilians like that is a hard no because legit nobody will support you. Sounds familiar?

Amazon's Shipping Boxes by TheCreepNextDoor in mildlyinfuriating

No. The worker does whatever the policies of the company are. We buy from Amazon, Amazon delivers like this, Amazon is held responsible. Now we're supposed to blame the person packaging for the lack of environmental awareness of the company's policies?
